    MMMMM Adventure Ride 17-18 June

    Motu-Matawai-Minginui Midwinter Madness

Our trip will start in fairly early on Saturday in Reporoa, then out through Kaingaroa to Opotiki & the Motu road & then on to Journey's End Station in from Matawai, owned by some friends of mine. There is a large & rather palatial shearer's quarters at the station & a chiller that we can arrange to have filled with beer. If the track is dry & it is available we may even be able to stay in the new lodge out near the bush. On Sunday we'll head out through the backroads to Waikaremoana & on to me Mum's at Minginui for lunch. From there we'll cruise back to Reporoa through southern Kaingaroa. Pretty much all tar or gravel roads but there will be several optional 'challenge loop' sections along the way depending on the weather & the time available.

Let me know if yer keen.

    Cheers
    Clint

Righto you lot. It's only a month out now. Who's in? If anybody wants to stay in Reporoa on the Friday or Sunday night there are a few beds at the 'Hut', 1st in 1st served.

    Cheers

There may be some members of Hell's Grannies at Minginui on Sunday to help you eat all that lunch.

Ok I've got the days off. So i'm in. I would like to take you up on your offer of a bed in reporoa on the friday night (I think Cary does too). What do we need to bring for saturday nights accommodation? Sounds like it'll be fun.

Sweet! It'll be great to have you guys along. Cary & XTC your bunks at the hut are reserved for Friday night. Let me know if you want a feed & bring some stuff for brekky Sat morning. Sleeping bags are required both Friday & Saturday nights. If you want to leave some gear at the hut & have a shower & change when you get back on Sunday you're welcome.

Ann at Journey's End Station has offered to cook us dinner on the Saturday night, but if there are too many more starters I'll just get her to get in some groceries for us & we'll have a cook up at the shearers quarters instead. I'm just going to take some cereal for brekky on Sunday. Fuel is available at the station so bring some cash for that & a $20 koha.

I'll make up an info sheet with directions, maps, ph numbers etc & send it out closer to the day.

    Cheers
    Clint

Yep, bring some beers for Friday night. If you are riding down & are short on space I'll be up there in the wagon a few days before to stock the fridge & fill the gas bottle so I could buy some refreshments for you guys too if you want, just let me know what you need.
Ann can stock the chiller at Journey's End for us, once I have an idea of numbers I'll let her know how much to get. It'll be anything you like so long as it's Tui, bring a few $ to chip in for this too.

Sleeping bags are required at the both the hut & the shearer's quarters. Make sure it stays dry with a drybag or plastic bag in case we strike rain.

    Cheers
    Clint
