What an excellent ride. Very little rain on the actual ride. Great company, great accommodation, great food and the highlight for me was the snow up through waikaremoana. Hooray for heated grips!. Thanks Clint.

I second that - great ride.
Well organised, well led, well done Clint!
1200km for the weekend for me. Highlight was the ride through the maize of gravel roads east of the Ureweras on a brilliantly fine Sunday morning. Lowlight was riding back home Sunday night - like being inside a washing machine comes to mind.
Cheers Guys, good to hear you made it back OK, just getting to Taupo was bad enough, I 'spose with all the dire forecasts our luck had to run out eventually.

Awesome scenery there guys, sounds like you had a great weekend - well done.
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
Hey there Clint
I am disappointed that I didnt find this forum and this post earlier!![]()
I would of been a starter since getting out of the 4wds and into bikes.
You have a good reputation of good runs, so I was disappointed to see it was one of yours and it looked like a good run too.....
But if your bike riding is similar to your 4wd driving, I wouldnt stand a chance keeping up![]()

G'day Scott, fancy meeting you here. Be good to catch up again, keep an eye on this forum & the advrider.com local forum for future rides. The next big one in the pipeline is the KiwiRider Kaipara Coast Adventure which should be heaps of fun if you can get Labour weekend off.
We should do a Hawkes bay ride sometime (maybe when it's a bit warmer!) You must know enough backroads & tracks 'round there to keep us entertained for a weekend.
Cheers
Clint
Hey
Yep sure will organise something around here, there are a number of places to go!
As for the Labour weekend run, I wont be able to make it as I am involved in the Targa events, great fun!!
Get to see some good roads and they are closed!!
Cheers
