I have some (yes0 Harley Davidson Waterproof gloves and they are great. http://www.hmhd.com/webstore/viewite...iewprodclothes . Only once have they let me down but at the same time my datyona waterproof boots as well. That was crossing Aurther Pass the same time that all the flooding occured around plamy in 2004

This is an unashamed plug - I have a pair of Teknic "Thunder" gloves, and they are the coolest winter gloves I have ever owned. Well not the coolest as in cold, but coolest as in "Groovy Baby". They don't leak, they are warm at -5C, and the little wiper blades on the index finger are a neat touch. They are quite thick, so you lose some feel, but not as much feel as when your hands are cold, numb, and wet.

I might give these a go, my present gloves are pretty new so that's why I was asking about those 'RAIN OFF' glove covers as advertised in B.R.M, they're cheaper than a new pair of gloves and are MEANT to be waterproof.

My gear consists of Warehouse XXXL (or sommat like that) nylon/pvc overtrousers with elastic waist and cuff, an old musterers 'drizabone' type coat I reproofed and gaiters over my boots, at the moment the gloves are the weak link (use bread bags at times, they're but look uncool).

dude, if you want ultimate waterproofing and you want it cheap, forget breathable (too expensive), forget leather (too absorbent), forget the warehouse (not designed for biking)... just go to Red Baron or Motomail and get a onepiece PVC suit. Won't cost you more than $150 (shop around) and if you do it up right, you'll NEVER get wet. Can get a little sweaty if its humid and you're not moving but if its worn over leather its not too bad. They also dry out really fast

best $125 I ever spent was getting my WFO rain suit because I know no matter what the conditions are, I simply will not have wet clothes at the end of my ride, no matter how long.

One piece suits are the biz, I got a motoline one folds up small, however try on acouple of sizes with all your gear on, to see whats the best fit. I got an XL, cos i thought it would be easier to get in and out of, which it is. the problem is that its very roomy and at speed it inflates and i look like a really porker, it also then catches the wind like a sail. better off getting a snug fit i reckon.

The thing I love most is that people normally start responding to the initial resurrection post very quickly. I suppose a lot of people are cruising the New Posts function? Besides, nothing wrong with resurrection. It beats duplication.

I know all about that one too.
The first time I crossed (in '01) there was 75mm in Greymouth that day.

I'm KR testing Dririder Nordic jacket and gloves at the moment.

Definitely worth a shot and not too dear either. MIne were $89 I think. I waterproof them with Snowseal. Heat the oven to 100C and then turn it off (pretty important that bit). Remove after about 10 minutes and liberally apply Snowseal to the bits that are most exposed in the rain, taking special care to coat the seams. Wear the cuffs under the sleeves of the Drizabone, and you'll be happy as Larry.

Hi. In the end I got some dririder summit cordura trousers. They're good for commuting, they haven't leaked on the way to uni yet. But as I found out last saturday, spend too long in the rain and they'll leak.
