    VTR1000 mufflers

Gidday, just deciding whether to buy Neptune or Scorpion mufflers for the VTR.
But got thinking about the stock mufflers.
I've seen a few people say that they got the baffles removed from the stock ones and it has the same effect and sound as the above mentioned mufflers.
Is this true, and how do you go about removing the baffles without wrecking the mufflers?

It's not a difficult job, but consider what you're going to do come warrant time if you get failed. Having aftermarket pipes will at least let you swap back.

In the trade it's called a bafflectomy

    And here's a link.

Anyone in Welly want to comment on how loud my bike is with scorpians? (I know I usually ride at the back)

I took the baffles out of my VTR and it sounded way better than stock. Still not throaty enough for my liking tho... If I was to own another VTR, then I'd definitely go after market. Also, I never had any issues getting a WOF.
If you're interested in removing the baffles, PM me cause I got instructions floating round somewhere.
