If you are looking to remove the speed limiter, you can buy a cheapish plugin box or modify the speedo itself. http://www.cr-x.org/cbr250/links/goT...asp?link_id=16 . My NC35 has a box plugged into the loom that lets it go past 180.Originally Posted by UrbanMyth
If you are looking to change the ignition advance (So it continues to advance.. grr) at higher rpms you probably want the HRC CDI. www.tyga-performance.com sell the HRC CDI.
cheers mate.Sweet ima do that speedo trick http://tyga-performance.com/site/pro...c1995e3ce1d9d2
this says nc35 but you can locate it in the nc30 section so is it the same for nc30

Oh err.... Best you ask tyga if you can actually fit it to a NC30, they may have made a mistake..Originally Posted by UrbanMyth
Shoot kwaka-kid a PM... It requires just a simple resistor to be soldered in... He will be back in Auckland at the end of the week, so will answer then...Originally Posted by UrbanMyth

Hey Urban... Okay 2 things, 1 is... take speedo off, unscrew the back of it, and bend the little brass tab... job done no more 180kmph limit. And of course you still ahve hte plug plugged in... or else, do what you have done, unplug the speedo at the back (green and black wire from memory? or brown) and on the bikes loom side, short the 2 wires, with a 1k5 - 2k2 resistor, that will trick the CDI into thinking the speedo is still plugged in (as it tells by some resistance being present) and yet it wont short it out... if you dont do the resistor thing and choose to unplug it, over 5500rpm the bike will chop to 2 cyls as you are experiencing.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the infomation.Lol i opened it all up but the disc turning aroudn wasnt touching anything so i unplugged the thing that the peice i think i am meant to bend goes through as it hits 180 on the speedo so when i was riding around as soon as i got over 5000rpm it cut out lmao was funny seeing it only been able to put about 40 kph in 1st.The metal peice that pokes off the disc doesnt seem to be in contact with anything but it does go threw the middle of two blue things. Some people get around this by switching to mph so it never hits 180 but screw that.
Need to get a HRC CDI those ones on tyga only fit nc35s..
Cheers

hey? i still dont udnerstand, so when its plugged in, the bike cuts out at 180? yet the brass bit cant touch anything? makes no sense man...
as for CDI's... no no no no no, i have an M-MAX derestrictor box for an NC30... which does the same thing. but seriously its not worth it, nor is an HRC ignition ... as its almost the same as an NC30 one, and they specify it for the NC35 because its ignition its more tame then the NC30/HRC
oh so what other things can i do to the nc30 to get more ommmpphh apart from a exhaust system?
Oh and some plug and when i unplugged it my biek would start cutting out if i rev'd it over 5thou in any gear. But i plugged back in and its fine again. You know how there is that little disc that you can see turning around as you spin the speedo arrow. The is that little bit poking out not up or down just coming right off the disc.As the arrow hits 180 it passes through two blue things.Sorry im not very technical with this stuff i just ride![]()

cool cool, when it passes thru - does it go over 180kmph? have you had it right around to Nippon Denso speed?
Next... hmm. not alot can be done cheap.. not for heaps of gain at least, but small stuff here and there, lift the needles 0.5mm for a richer and less jerky midrange. get the engine breather out of the airbox and vent it to air. Remove most of the sealing plastics around the engine/undertank etc aswell as the snorkel from the airbox, leaving only the bottom plastic that runs across top of upper radiator. Yeah, thats about it, definately go the exhaust though!they sound so much better.
sweet man youre awesome
gotta find either a whole system or can
