    Leaning: Side Stand Scraping

Hey people, I've finally got leaning going well.. Due to my bike being crap though, it's got solid footstands, so I'm using my shoes to let me know when "I've leaned enough". Did my first low left lean (been doing rights on Te Rapa Caltex roundabout), and instead of my shoe touching the road, I heard the expectant sound of my side stand.. Fortunately the back didn't go light or anything, but I now know that I need to get an aftermarket side stand installed.

Where in Hamilton is a good place to look for a side stand *second-hand if possible* (my friend is a good welder, so I'll trust him to install it)

You don't need a new sidestand, you just need to learn how to move your weight around the bike more, giving you the ability to corner faster while keeping the bike more upright. I doubt that bike could be safely leant much past the point of the sidestand scraping anyway.

Either that or just let the road modify your sidestand over time as Beyond has.
It's just one of those days, where you don't wanna wake up,
    everything is fucked, everybody sucks,
You don't really know why but you wanna justify ripping someone's head off

The thing is I don't like being upright.. I like wearing bits of tread off the toe of my shoe.. and when doing that it still grips like.. um.. a thing that grips the road..

The stock sidestand on my bike isn't very good.. it doesn't hold the bike up too well, and it doesn't like leaning too much.. complete waste of time.. Maybe I should remove it and just use the centre stand..

Is your front and rear sag set up right?
If not, the bike may be sitting too low making it scrape things before it should on corners?

I read a review on my bike on the net (it's an Indian-made bike), and one of the 'issues' with the bike is that: "The side-stand is very low and could scrape the road while leaning"

I've just read a review and looked up the Kinetic site, it sounds like the Indian motorcycle scene is a completely different world to what we've got here!
    Do you really get 50km/L?

if i traveled at the recommended 35km/h i probably would, but going fast and lying down on corners is fun..

..and to think: it's looks like its almost rated as ONE OF THE BEST!!! God, India must suck!!!
