    Is this shock stuffed?

experienced opinion required. There is some discolouration on the shaft (corrosion?) and a couple of small dings (circled in blue).
There's also a photo of the base of the shock (where the shaft exits the shock) with bits of dirt stuck to it, possibly indicating it is already leaking?

I'm concerned that the seals are stuffed, or if they aren't already that they will be soon if I install it in the bandit.

    What a headache...

This is a shock I've just bought from a wrecker, they couriered it to me and now I'm thinking I might ride down there (tauranga) on friday and see if they've got another shock in better condition I could swap it for since I was hoping to have a new shock in before sunday.

Do you reckon the shaft is cause for concern/swapping/returning it?

    Thanks Frosty.
I phoned the shop and they'll have a look to see if they've got something else. The shock is being couriered down today, I checked tomorrows weather report and it looked pretty grim, so couriering is the more sensible option.
