Another possible theory I've read is that the drivers subconsciously feel more comfortable with the width of the road and tend to speed up as the road becomes two lanes.
Buggered if I know what causes it, but it irritates me tool. I usually find that I end up shifting down two gears and nailing it past them, which means I end up going waaaay faster than I really should...
I guess its the price you pay for having to share the road with mouth-breathers...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
