Red face Akl Thurs NIGHT RIDE and Drinks 11th May @ 6.30pm******WESTGATE MEETING PLACE*****

Hopefully this weeks thread won't get hijacked

What: A ride up north in da dark finishing with a cold one
When: Thursday night after work on the 11th May
Where: Shell WESTGATE (end of the North Western Motorway)
Why: To get your fix for the mid-week blues
Time: Meeting there from 6.30pm departing @ 7pm
Pace: Open to all (As long as you can ride at least 100kph - not to say that we ride that speed all the time in the dark)

I'm doin the rides not for so much the riding itself (very limited with time and what you can do with it) but the social get-together at the Speights Ale House (Oteha Valley Road, Albany) afterwards. So if you can't make the ride, try and make the pub and meet fellow Kbers! The food is fine and a huge variety of beers to choose from. We are there from 8pm onwards.

The route will be discussed on the night. For those worried about distance/time the ride will last for approx 1hr - 1half and is 70kms long. We start at Westgate and finish up at Albany.

    - Remember I dont want to see anyone turn up with a tinted/irridium visor on! Any chance to lessen the risks we take in our riding the better! (If you dont have a clear visor, may I suggest buying/borrowing a pair of clear saftey glasses and keep ya tint visor up....)

    - Darkness = Slower speeds (self explained...)

Remember this ride is WEATHER PERMITTING - I will post up in the thread if it is postponed due to weather. I will decide on the day and post after 5pm.

Disclaimer: You participate on this ride at your own risk. I will not be held accountable for anyones actions, to/from and during the ride.. Anyone who is caught endangering others by their actions will be asked to leave the ride and may be refused entry to forthcoming rides! As seen on last weeks thread........

Right... so I turn up at Lincoln road this time eh? Where is everyone?

Weather permitting I'll be there, and maybe get to meet a few KB faces for the first time.

Sounds like a plan GR81 I probably won't have the ugly bit on the top but that shouldn't matter.

na, its just the L brackets i wanna look at.
need em so i can put a low rack on there for the missus to grab onto. saves her sliding down the seat under braking and crushing ma nuts

cycletreads said ventura have to custom make them up since its an old bike and they dont stock them anymore... custom = cant return if it doesnt fit

Ive changed it back for 2 reasons, 1. People are just used to turnin up there and counting its on....... 2. Being further south than Westgate it cuts into the time riding around up north, so it takes longer to get into the 'riding area'. The main reason I changed it to Lincoln rd was because I was planning on taking the group through Waitakere Road but didnt in the end, the traffic really sucks in that area @ night.
