    ZX10-r

Nah I don't think you guys are dickheads.
There is truth to what you say, I don't deny it.
Will I see my grandkids? .......who knows....I could get hit by a bus tommorrow.
I can't offer you any sane reasons why I want to do this.

Agreed. Moving from the zzr250 to the zx7r, the last bit of acceleration was enough to actually leave my mind behind... and I now know what testers are talking about when they say mind blowing...

Have you ridden some thous?? There is a gulf between 250 and 600 (or old 750). I haven't ridden a thou, and I really couldn't guess just how fast it is. I would expect roughly the same jump as I have had, which would make it completely nuts.

The 04/05 zx10r was also the most powerful thou for those years (engine wise), but its handling was the downfall. It is the animal of the four, for those years. The 06 has the same power I think, but handling has been tamed a bit.

In tight twisties, given equal riders, the 6 should beat the 10, and there wouldn't be as much bite when accelerating. With you riding a 250, you don't know yet how easy it is for a bigger bike to suddenly lose traction.

I went through an intersection tonight in the pouring rain, wanting to beat the orange, probably a bit over the limit, but as I entered the intersection, I must have hit something slippery, because the rear started to break. I hit the white lines, and the revs shot up, and the bike started an amusing 2 wheel drift. Stuff like that doesn't just "happen" on a 250. A thou would bite your head off instead.

    Just be very aware...

    Sniff Sniff

    Hey guys / girls

Thought you might like to know I'm not getting a ZX10R anymore. (sniff sniff) The bike I was going to buy, well the deal fell through (actually someone dropped / crashed the bike). stink....for me and for the seller

After the comments on this post and friends, workmates telling me to be "bloody" careful I reckon me not getting the bike was a sign not to buy a 1000cc.

So I've decided to get a brand spanking new ZX6R. Thanks to everyone for their comments.

I reckon a few years riding the 636cc and I will hopefully be ready for the next leap in power.

    Cheers

believe me, the 636 is far more fun than any thou imo.
give that some stink, then wonder if you can really use the extra power..

I agree with the consensus. Good to see that you have listened to all the advice both here and at work. I think you'll really love the new bike! Enjoy!
