28th of April - proabably the same or similar line up.

Heaps of fun - but a word of advice to anyone who has never been there - don't sit too close to the front unless you feel like baring the brunt of a lot of jokes.

Where you there when "Lobster" had his skit based on ginga's?

Yeah last night we were one table back from the stage and this chick at the table infront of us got given shit by almost every comedian on stage through-out the whole show lol, felt kinda sorry for her, but the tart wouldn't turn her cell phone off and it kept going off

No I missed Lobster. Anyone with a cellphone on in a public place deserves everything they get - that would have been good.

I used to pay a fiver to go an see Ardal O'Hanlon and Craig Charles in East Finchley. Spending $80-$120 at the Town Hall just feels wrong.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I don't know how much the comedy fest is... but the comedy bar is $5 - $15 depending on the night, and drinks are on average $6. Not very expensive

We don't have one down here, so we only get "names", so they stick them in relatively big venues.

MInd you, it's still cheaper then travelling to Auckland to pay $5-$15

What you talking about Jim2? The comedy festival is coming to your neck of the woods - http://www.comedyfestival.co.nz/ A lot of shows are only $15-$25. A couple of the bigger ones do go for $32 or $44.....

The Comedy Festival gets advertised around the rest of the country and we're just supposed to know it's on. I missed the last one completely. Didn't even notice anything in the papers or any signage or anything. A bloke I work with noticed it when he went to buy Hi-5 tickets. He picket up a pamphlet at the MFC and saw that it had finished two days earlier.

Besides a festival is a little different to just rocking up to the Comedy Club or similar venue for a night out. I still think $15 is too much as a cover charge for a local comedian.

I can never keep up with those guys at Indigo - it's always different, including when they forget to tell you that they've booked a different band for 6:30pm on Fridays so we don't need you tonight - no worries, now you can help me carry my 150kgs of crap downstairs please.

lol went to the open mic nite again last night...

And Sam and I were right up front in the center of the stage... the MC and 6 out of the 8 comedians took the piss out of us... was all in good fun though... the MC took the piss about me being from Zimbabwe, and out of Sam from being up north lol... he asked her "got any pot?" and she replied "not enough for you" ahaha yeah!

Our mate that we were supporting sucked last night, which I think was because his new girlfriend was there and his mother was there, so he played it down and sucked.

Funny little indian guy took the piss out of indians... couldn't stop laughing, then he hit on Sam, which made me laugh even harder, obviously don't have a lot of dykes in india...

This is on my list of things to do again soon!

It is hard to watch someone who is struggling up there, and nothing they do seems to improve things.

Standup's a lot harder to do than it looks I would say.
