    Thanks heaps

P.S Also installing a new Yoshi TRS system this weekend YA
What about Waikato Yammie mate? Good guys there, i'm sure they'd track down what your after. Can see Steve at F1 enginnering (also in Hams) for some rearsets and all other sorts of fancy machined parts including crash bungs. I see you have the exhaust sorted, what about brakes and suspension, could get some braided lines. Yeah as others have said, look around the online trading sites.

Will check out the other sites with the info too. Waikato Yammie, not too sure on their sport bike knowledge but a great group of guys once you have had a few dealings with them. Went and saw steve he did some good work on me bike. He didn't even have to drill a hole in the fearing. Ended up making a bracket which worked great. ( GO F1) Have pic 2 if you guys want to check it out. Now i have Yoshi, DNA, crash nobs. PC turning up this week. then i will be trying to get a dyno at AMPS. Will have to read up about the mods to brakes and supension. Because i think i stop pretty quick now. Any more and i will be locking the front wheel.

    Need 4 Speed is great!

I have, and I'm not the only one who realises it for the placebo affect that it is. Simply put, the timing is only restricted at part throttle, not WOT, and the unrestricted TL/SV is too gutless on partial throttle to have a noticable difference... they just don't restrict it *that much* (why would they, it's not that powerful).

The big cube GSXRs on the other hand are sufficiently powerful at partial throttle as to be worth doing. Suzuki didn't timing restrict the twins because of power, only because of emissions testing.

I'm not sure what the link to Ivan's proves? He's been raping people for years with these things, so what? If you think people who post illinformed crap on public websites piss you off, think how much idiots who're sucked into marketing dribble piss the rest of us off?

/edit: I must admit, they do make some difference to the twins. It'll still knockout the speed limiter, and it'll fuck with your cold idle performance.

sorry i just cant agree with you,i have never bothered to read any marketing dribble about the TRE,all i did was spend some time reading posts on the subject and discussing it with members on the old TLplanet website, fact is i bought one and it made a difference to my bike although i dont remember having any problem with cold idle.i cant believe that literally hundreds of TL riders/racers the world over can be wrong about the TRE..that combined with mucking about with a yosh box and a few other things has really transformed the way the old girl goes.

Indeed the Yoshi box will make a fabulous difference, it can be used to cut out the dips in the power curve which are a result of emission and noise testing compliance. I'm glad your TRE worked out really well for you... I do however find it amusing to read the posts on TLPlanet and the like that describe how much more powerful their bikes are, and how much better they rev out, after fitting a mod that affects less than half throttle only. I have to admit that the amount of documented evidence is overwhelming, the many dyno runs etc... they do an excellent job of supporting the more subjective evidence like 'revs better, has more power, smoother etc'...

Well theres something we can agree on....after a bit of research into what a TRE actually was/did i never expected the .....ummmm lets just call them amazing results that people were claiming but figured if the reality was about 1/2 of the claims then in fact it would be a worthwhile purchase which i find it to be.funny it was the yanks who managed to acheive these amazing results all the time i guess its just the american way

SO MANY OPINIONS ON TRE'S , FACTORY PRO SAID THEY WERE CRAP FOR YEARS AND POSTED DYNO PROOF AND 1/4 MILE RUNS TO PROVE IT , THEN THEY STARTED SELLING THEM , I MADE SOME AND PUT ONE ON MY GSXR1000 K2 AND IT MADE A DIFFERENCE IT WAS ENOUGH OF A DIFFERENCE THAT I COULD PULL AWAY FROM A BIKE I COULDNT PREVIOUSLY BEAT , THEN I PUT ONE ON MY K3 GSXR1000 AND FOUND IT HARDER TO RIDE THRU TRICKY CORNERS AND WET OR SLIPERY ROADS CAUSE IT MADE THROTTLE CONTROL HARDER THAT RETARDATION ON THE K3 MADE IT SLGHTLY EASIER EXITING CORNERS , I SENT ONE OF THEM TO ONEARMBANDIT AND I THINK HE LIKES IT

how did a thread about modding an R1 become a bitching contest over whether or not a TRE makes a difference on an SV/TL... wrong manufacturer, wrong engine design, perhaps Bakes could whack one in the R1 and tell us if it makes any difference for him...

P.S, i'm jealous as - if i could have any bike right now its a mix up between the 04-06 R1 and the 06 R6.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

It's a special thing called a thread... and threads have a habit of running off topic. It's not a crime
