Oh my god that is so sad! A friend of mine is pregnant... and is 18.. and I thought that was young!

In a way it is good that her parents are supporting her.. but it is horrible in another way because I mean come one! the girl is soooo young and hasn't even had her own childhood and is now responsible for another life.

Taking the teacher point of view... the age I originally wanted to teach was 10-12 year olds... I could not imagine having one of my students fall pregnant! That is just terrible!

What do people really expect when we have the sexualisation of children by the advertising media.
And you don't have to look far here to see pre-pubescent girls wearing the latest whore chic while mum proudly watches.
You can't have it both ways, they're either children and treated as such or they are kids having kids

Probably more the environment she lives in Lou but yeah, you have a very valid point - I wonder how a proud mum would feel if she was told "Gee Mrs, your little daughter is dressed like a whore"??

A bit like the liquor industry marketing thing - and THEY never pick up the pieces!!

15 year old dressed like Madonnas skanky little sister + alco-pop drinks = assaults/vd/pregnancy etc

It's no wonder 84% of my workmates voted that they would prefer the drinking age to be put back to 20.

Er.. one thing. Why is it that none of us are mentioning the lad that knocked her up, and his lack of values..?
Should it all be on the head of an 11 year old kid?

The real tradgedy is not that a 11 year old is pregnant but that the mother is proud of it.

Might be all the dosh rolling in from media payments

Jazbugs comment and this one sum up the environment the 11 year old lives in.

They have no idea of 'breaking out', to them this IS how life is.

Yes Lou...we are bombarded with sex in the media every day and people wonder why kids are doing it.

My cousin took her two girls over to Oz for her mother's 60th birthday and all the little cousins got together to put on a performance for the adults. Kim was shocked to see these pre-pubescent girls gyrating and dirty dancing and said the only thing missing was the poles!

It's so sad these days with sex being the focus of everthing. Sex sells and we teach our children this everyday when they watch telly & read magazines. I am disgusted everytime I see young girls wearing clothes that make them look like mini-hookers and the mothers seem proud of it! No way would I ever let my daughter buy suggestive clothing let alone wear it. I'm thankful everyday that my girl has enough sense to see past media advertising and not follow "Fashion".

This story of the 11 year old and her sad family makes my stomach turn.
The boy should be charged with being a paedophile. How can anyone screw an 11 year old?

Quite right, lot of fun to be had making judgements on kiddie-fucker, animal torturers, rapists, drug-dealers, burglars and motor-bike thieves, why the hell would we ever need to meet them to do that??

You're not one of the above and feeling a little sensitive are you?

I tend to agree. This is sad, and the parents are to blame. Unfortunately it is often over several generations and you wonder what the Grandparents are like. This girl and all like her, will never have a childhood, they'll be scarred for life.Too many kids never get a chance to be kids.

goblin...only problem with refusing to dress any kids you have/may have in the future is good luck finding clothes that dont make them look like mini hookers. most kids clothing these days is all styled like that.

    rumba....keep it that way man.

i think yeh, she and the following generations will all be the same. this is the norm for them, so, in their eyes, why change it? some kids do have the view to get out, and many will fight to the death to do just that. but sadly, you can take the city from the boy, but not boy from the city. or something to that effect.
