Drinking age doesn't mean shit. If you want alcohol, you can easily get it. I was offered some Vodka in Physics class just the other day

I bet the 11 year old girl's doctors are enjoying the attention and will profit from it. Their peers will be congratulating them and wishing they too had one of the youngest girls to be pregnant on their patient list. It's all about egos!
I'm a littler closer to this situation. A friend had a prem baby that was a matter of days past the cut off for rescus. Despte all the risks prem babies face, this little girl is normal in everyway and her mum blesses those Doctors and nurses everyday.

It's probably the same, it's just good ol' Upper Hutt up to its old tricks again.

Infamously, a couple of guys actually smoked up in class (science), but they did not manage to evade the keen nose of the geriatric asian substitute teacher, "somebody is burning the grass!"

Oh Upper Hutt, when will you learn?......

Okay , perhaps I could have phrased that differently- but what I meant was, the heat of our opinion seems to be almost entirely focussed on the girl's (or was that 'dumb slut', Indy?) side/family. Not too many comments about the boy, regardless of if he is being done for rape... if that's the right word or charge for what he did.

Actually, I think WINJA has a point, too- the family clearly are anti abortion, and maybe her mother is proud because she isn't taking the easy option, however misguided we might think that seems. Maybe if any of us actually met her, rather than reading stupid quotes selected by a journalist, we might be surprised to find a family making the best of a nightmare situation..?
    Just a thought.

Its a sad world. I have a 13 year old daughter and no desire to be a grandfather at 33. Where is the boy in this situation? Are his parents proud of him?

Got my daughter staying tonight, it's her 7th birthday. Trying to imagine her being a mother in just over 4yrs time would be laughable if this sort of thing didn't actually happen. 11yrs old is just (imo) way to young to be having sex, let alone considering having a child. Sure we don't know the full story, but I really don't see how an 11yr old could handle being a parent when they are still a child themselves.

I want my daughter to mature into a beautiful young woman, but I want her to have a childhood first.

gareth_d here, saw a girl at work the otehr day, had a belly like an 8mth pregnant woman, made me sick. This children need to learn some discipline, and their parents too. Sure sex is good (buffy can tell you how good i am) but if you are reckless with it you can get into bad trouble like this. 11yo pregnant, wtf, her mum shoulda smacked her more as a child and tought her a lesson, if your 11 you shouldnt be fucking, let alone making babies, i mean WTF. Send winja to deal with her, but a chain smoking 11yo that is pregnant. Thats just fucked up, even in my books, and i'm a bit rude and crude, even by pyrocams standards and thats something i is drunk so this probably doestn count.

All this talk about sex education made me remember that ERO is coming to my school tomorrow and my sex ed teacher put my name forward to answer their questions about what I think of the program.

Seriously, 11years old. that is crazy.

    Cool

Hmmmmm 15 year old father charged with Rape... will most likely get sentenced and sent down for it... will be forever be known as a rapist...

What a life this young boy has ahead of him... Whenever there is a rape in his area that he will live in.. he will be pulled up each time and checked out for his alibi... will be put on the "sex offenders list" forever.

What he did was wrong, having sex with a child. I sure hope he has learnt from this and keeps his penis inside his pants for a very long time.
Yes at 11 years of age the girl was a child.

I dont think this little kid really knows what she is in for...
will she still continue to run wild (parties etc) and her mother be left to bring up another baby.

Why was she allowed to be out boozing and running wild at such a young age... This comes down to parental supervision... and her mother lacks these skills.

The child is "excited" but cant cope when her little brother gets sick...
well what is she gonna do when her baby crys when the baby is sick... run outside and go to a party....

Time to call in cyps or the UK equivilant (sp)

This young child needs to know that she is now gonna be staying at home 24/7 and looking after a little baby...

I dont like the idea of children having children... it is so wrong.

Yep it seems to be happening a lot..... but in NZ if someone has a baby under 18 (benefit age) then the parents of the new mother are totally responsible of the new mother and baby... thats all financial worries.

This is only my opinion.... but it is so damned sad to see it happening so damned often.
