    HJC Carbon Fibre Helmet anyone?

Has anyone actually got one of the HJC carbon fibre helmets?
I understand that they've been really popular and would be interested in any opinions.

My low spec HJC helmet is pretty good, I'd assume that would be much better. It looks damned awesome too

Are HJC still using clips or have they got D-Rings now?

My AC10 I've had about 2 years had 'D' clips as have all other HJC's I have looked at since.

My CS-10 has a clip (that is like a seat belt buckle thing right?)

I think the models above the CL-14 have D-rings. Im pretty sure the AC-11 had D-rings.

Reason I ask is because I had a CL-10 with clips in 1998 that actually came undone when I got hit by a car. It flew off my head and I was ejected about 4 metres in the air. My mate who saw the accident said he thought my head was still in the helmet.

I had another friend who got nailed by a car and he too had his CL-10 with clips fly off his head.

And before anyone says it... Yes the helmet was the correct size and yes I do know how to do my helmet up properly. It didn't slip over my chin, the clips actually came undone. Not Good!.

Well bugger that! I should be replacing my helmet anyway after the few knocks it's had though

Why have a clip over D rings? Wouldn't D rings be cheaper?

Im assuming that clips are easier to do-up, and the customer often wants 'easy'.
Ive not had a D-ring helmet yet so cant comment.

I know I won't be buying another helmet with the clip system. D-Rings would have stopped hetting my head on the road from coming down from about 12 feet in the air.

My old Motostar dirt helmet has D rings. They get pretty easy to do up so long as you have your gloves off

    D rings I think.
I've done quite a bit of looking around on the interweb for helmets and of course most of the ones that I want aren't available here.
A lot of them actually list D rings as a feature - I wondered why and this must be the reason.

    Clips

Had an AGV helmet with clips but threw it as soon as I saw a crack in the plastic clip socket cover.

I know someone who's got one..

even tho it looks nice, it's nothing too special. You can actually flex the helmet by squeezing the sides. Not sure if that's the best thing in a crash, not sure if I want to find out! Altho it'll be made with stress points in mind, I think a regular plastic/fibre glass lid would be better for your dosh..
Plus, CF fades in the sun after a year or so, and the resin scratches easy. It's light, but then it's the same weight as my Shoei I just bought. And I'd have that over the CF lid any day
