From a KBer, but come on, I mean the posts weren't world class...
this and this as examples of the kinda stuff posted. Both incidentally ended up in PD. bernardf was an interesting character - he may still be around...?
Maybe it's a pack mentality thing - If you're new and you turn up here and post something that a couple of people may think isn't that good should you expect to get crucified for it? Should you just expect to take your licks and harden up?

Don't think "get a cup of harden up" applies to this. Newbies have the right to feel as welcome as everyone else, obviously its not going to happen.

If they are newbies does this mean that the 'abuse of fellow members' thing doesn't apply?

I feel that my intelligence has been abused when I have to decode TXT. So yes, the abuse of fellow members thing does apply.

We reap what we sow and one good turn deserves another sounds kinda fitting.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

True that, maybe that was a little harsh. Takes all kinds to make a community.

So go PM SpankMe and ask him to make a rule that all users must type all words correctly and out in full then if you feel your intelligence is being abused.

    That someone was me.

I have no issues with genuine mistakes, but I feel that deliberate misuse of language without purpose is an insult to the reader. And NO I am not going to advocate for any rule that would restrict any possible freedom of expression. That would bring my intelligence down to the level of those who simply don't know any better.

So feel free to type away in what ever manner you chose, but allow me the freedom to judge one's post based on what I read.
