Saw that. You really think that the govt will pony up 12.5 million to sponsor MotoGP? Never happen. Govt hates bikes.
Might happen if instead of leathers Rossi and co wore wearable art award pieces and the teams were sponsored by tofu firms.
Superdukes. Serving up shame to sportsbikes since ages ago.
Saw it too. Hope the gummint comes to the party!!!Bring it on!!!

Not after they spend 76 million on telling us we are too fat. I would have thought the latest reality TV craze (downsize me etc) would have pushed the message well enought for Ch**st sakes.
Plus
The government has funnelled an extra $7.2 million into sport and recreation in Thursday's budget.
Funding will increase from $50.8 million in 2005/06 to almost $58 million in 2006/07.
The package boosts funding for elite athletes, regional sports development and active living programmes administered by Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC).
If you are not some elite lycra clad poof say goodby to any funding. Did I say that I hate athletics....
Now I know why I dont watch the news , its just too upsetting![]()
Aaah... Steve told me you look really fabulous in lycra - go on, y'know you want to....Originally Posted by Morepower

If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
Haha, I do athletics, but I'll tell you where the money really goes.... Yachting, rowing, and rugby,
Some goes to athletics, but very few athletes see any of it. You know what the minister for sport and recreation said several months before the commonwealth games. He said why should he bother funding athletes like Nick Willis who won't get medals, when he could fund people who will get medals like Beatrice Faumuina. Just showing you how out of touch the government is.
Nick Willis taking out the 1500m was the best moment of the whole games for the NZ team, I saw it coming a mile away.
Oh well, I'll give them a chance to see if they can really figure out whats best for NZ. Bring on the Motogp's.
This of course ignores the point that a few years ago the government was spending 13 billion a year on benefits, and my personal pet hate.... art bullshit. Te Wananga managed to syphon a few hundred million I think. They were dodgy as. Students didn't have to do shit, but they still claimed funding from the government for courses that nobody went to... All they had to do was get you to sign up, and you got a free computer, you didn't have to attend anything. And they got a whole lot of money from the government. Genius.
