Yeah I know. If the govt (tossers) cough up at least 12 large for motoGP you will get a box of choccy raisins and a box of Tui, as KB is my witness.

Would Moto GP generate more than $12million NZ if it was held in NZ? If not the Government would not be able to justify even spending half that to help hold Moto GP here. Sorry, but as much as I would love to see Moto GP here in NZ, if it means a tight fist like Finance Minister Michael Cullen is going part with $12million for MotoGP when his total budget for funding for sport is $58 million in 2006/07, which is an increase of $7.2 million into sport over last budget (see Xtra's Budget Delivers Extra Millions To Sport), thought is "Yer Right"

saw the news piece, its kind of old news though as it has been spoken about already somewhere (cant quite remember) - sorta just bringing it into the light i guess. What i do know is that if it went ahead it would be a big undertaking. I know that a majority of NZ's motorcycling community would make the journey from all over the country to go and see it, as it is really a two day even (practice one day, then quals and racing the next?)

Truth is though, would taupo town be able to cope with all the added traffic etc? There aint a hell of a lot of accomodation around them parts, well not the type that MotoGP guys will be expecting?

On a side note, wouldnt it be a good idea to try and get WSBK to come our way as well, or is MotoGP and WSBK sorta one with the other package anyway?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

"Pending track changes" like a whole new track, chirst are people blind? Have you had a look at the new crop of MotoGP tracks lately, Turkey (one of the best rider tracks in the world IMO) Qatar, Shanghai, and Taupo, please, as cool as it would be, it aint gonna happen, i'll happiely eat my words, but i doubt i will. You just have to look at the width, and run off of these tracks and compare to taupo, then not to mention the facilties and car parking spce, all of which taupo is very lacking, great national cricut, but wont cut the mustard internationally, Hampton Downs is this countrys last hope, lets hope it's all it cracks up to be this time.

Not that I'm at all cynical, but will Hampton Downs ever get built?

Taupo needs to be FIM Grade A to run MotoGP, does it comply or can it be made to?

    MotoGP in NZ

I heard from an undisclosed source today that MotoGP may be coming to NZ next year, is this true and am I the last to know?

Any more info would be great!
If someone passes you he is a nutter and you expect to pick him off the blacktop round the next corner, if you pass someone they are a slow and have all the gear and no idea
