It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
Twas a good ride- hadn’t been on one for ages with kb and my riding skills where appalling to speak of - need to get out way more....
Hopefully next time we will be earlier going and get to do the full loop.
I believe it was Merwood (hopeless at names) that I had to show the way back to the motorway from celevdon when we lost the others - once again - third time now!!! Where did you guys go? What route did you take home?
I when home via the motorway to the city and had a blast around the waterfront and back via a friends place to have a chat.
Next weekend weather depending I hope we can get out again and do the full loop - sounds like a plan![]()

Sorry 'bout that, wasn't sure whether you guys were following us or staying with Tristan n co. I just followed LL Cool M to Clevedon, thru Twilight Rd then back up Whitford Rd. Sounds like a few guys keen to do the Kaiaua Loop next weekend!!Originally Posted by danb
Just went for a ride for the first time up throught Monument Rd (mental note to self, don't go fast around roads you don't know yet), as I was coming back to the small township and contemplating Kaiaua Bay, one of these types of things (though not a Caterham exactly):

turned into Monument Rd. I though to myself "Ass, I can't pass this up" so I did a u-turn back onto Monument Rd and we ended up both speeding through the hills. Unfortunately he eventually got caught behind some traffic and I had to bid him farewell, but it was a fairly joyous ride none-the-less.
On the way back a goat tried to race me, but he was not orange and I was not tricked.
Yeah, Glad you enjoyed it, cool bit of road and so close to home too!!
So you know that bit of road continues to Hunua, then you can get from there to SH2 at Mangatawhiri, then to Kaiaua which makes a good loop back to Kawakawa Bay.... right??![]()

Buddy L and Lim and I went also went for a cruise yesterday. We're all on 250's as well.
We swung out west as the roads seem to flow really nicely on SH16...i have to say i just can't get enough of the roads out Coatsville way...just beautiful.
The traffic interupted the ride now and again...but apart from that...a really good time was had by all.
BLOODY GOOD WEATHER....pity its about to end.
dammit gotta cycle to work tomoro
