I was having trouble with my taillight a while back. In the end I just run new wires and hardwired it on. Can't think of any instance where you don't want it on anyway.
When you loose your keys and can't turn your bike off.

I've got the opposite problem at the moment brake light stays on most of the time. Need to sort out the switch thingy for the front brake.
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

I'd be keen to come at least part way with you. I'm not overly fond of gravel either, and would only hold you up, but there must be some good sealed stuff on the way. Dependant on funds/price of petrol vs price of food. Cowboyz - I may well do that, im not sure if the problem is in the bulb holder itself or shady wiring. The problem is, whenever I go to fix it at home I can't reproduce the problem and haven't had the time to pull all the bodywork off and figure it out.

Was allowed back on bike on Wednesday so had a little ride to get a warrant on Thursday then took the bike to Himitangi to watch my stepdaughter's school cross country. Was a little sore afterwards I think from the vibration on the mending ribs so I will take things easy for a while with some shortish rides until evrything is back to normal. Bugger - back to work Monday
