    New Caledonia

Has anyone here been to this place? It seems that I am going on a school trip over that way at the end of June. Any advice from anyone who has been there? All advice would be appreciated. I haven't ever left this country that most of us call home so I am looking forward to it.

Do you think I'll be able to sneak a ride on a bike over there?

They like their scooters. Stay with people you know. Apart from that they're nice enough.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Practice your French, do your French homework, keep your room tidy at your homestay, offer to help out, be polite and if all fails - smile nicely!

So TIM is not a girl? That he finds you attractive is a worry....

No Tim is not a girl - but a bit blousy nonetheless - and then there's Frank - and Frank isn't a boy - confused yet? Yeah - me too!

He's a guitarist...It explains it all really, doesn't it? Well if it doesn't, then ...Ummm....

"Tim, I think there's something I should tell you."
    "Oh Zac, I've been waiti-"
    "I quit the band okay...."

    Yeah...

Tim's a blousy looking boy - With a scar on his head. He got hit by a car.
Frank's a big tough biker chick from America. Her shoulders would eat me alive

I went when I was 16. Was an awesome trip, the people are nice and the nude beaches are nicer. The price of things will surprise you as going out for dinner can cost thousands (not NZ$). Yep, it has been said before, be polite, the people appriciate politeness and will respond the same way. There is a gang mentality present when you are impolite and than can cause alot of strife.

As for bikes, unless you have your full (The gandarmerie are very switched on there) and your host family has one, you are out of luck mate. Have fun though
