    Sawyer's/Motorad have one. In green.

Big step from a 250. Be careful.

Yeah I went there, they had sold both of them in the past week.
Yep I realise its a mammoth jump, one which lots of people will probably frown on. but I can't be arsed spending money on a 600cc when I know I will want a 1000 soon as.

someone once told me, to respect the bike and it will respect you. there will be lots of respect.....no doubt.

actually, to back up Poo's (actually, never back up to Poo's), the ZX10 kicked off some of the most experienced riders before people respected that bike. 600's can keep up with thous except for the straights. And lets face it, those are boring anyway. In fact, in the right hands, 6 hundies can play havoc with thous. I've ridden thous before, and find a 6 easier to chuck around and use. probably the same for 750s too, but not ridden any yet

    dove, yup

Agreed there man...but if ya gonna get one anyway make sure before ya ride it you get yourself a steering dampner fitted, definately!
A hell of a bike to get onto mate from your last one but if you're sensible and cruise for a bit you'll have a decent chance of seeing ya grandkids one day
I've gone from a K4 1000 to an '06 ZX10 and even though it has been "Honda-ised" it still nods its head harder than a hooker on meth!
Do as you will mate....just please be careful

Yeah I'd have to back everyone up here, going from a 250 to an 05' ZX10 is a pretty dumb thing to do. I rode my 600 for about 2 years and it still did the occasional unexpected thing here and there but it was much easier to pull back in line than one of those weapons would be. Even when i get my new bike Im still just thinking of going maybe to a 750 at the most until i get used to that.

Be carefull if you do decide to go ahead with this, its definately not the brightest idea youve ever had......but thats what people told me when i first got a bike.

    Steering dampers are your friends

what a pack of jealous cunts, if i had had the cash i would of gone 250-zx10r (in black of course) go the man, tell the jealous pricks where to shove it, buy a zx10, with you on the 04/05, the new shape is nasty! check out trademe an bikepoint, always a few floating around, probably stil some new 04/05s somewhere, or maybe even give the_yoshie a call about his one....

ain't jealous. i've got a K3 gixer thou in my gargre, and I'd ride the 636 harder and faster over that any day.
I still remember when I got off my CBR250 and rode a 600 for the first time, and the power scared the shit out of me for the first few weeks. I'd have no idea what a 250 to a thou would have been like.

    yeh you are!
you got a k3gixer thou in your garage, this guys getting a zx10r!
being scared equals adrenaline > bigger bike, bigger the thrills, go the zx10r!an insurance probably a good idea if you can, go for a low excess for the first year, worth it, cause your most likely going to crash it, im guessing in 3-4 months, once you have gotten comfortable with it and start to push it
