How high can I rev my CBR?

Hey everyone. As you know (if you read my first thread) I bought a CBR last monday. I'm having awesome fun with it, especially since I started taking it on the motorway. One thing I do wonder is how high can I rev it? I take it up to 12-13, but I'm not sure if its alright to take it higher.

Take right up to the red line mate. It'll have a limiter too so if you go beyond that the limiter will cut in.
Superdukes. Serving up shame to sportsbikes since ages ago.

You make max torque around 14K rpm and max HP around 16K. Stay within that limit and you should be ok. I try not to exceed 17K at all times even on trackdays.

Remember you do have a rev limiter, but these are OLD bikes, so be careful.

Jimbo's on to it. Give it heaps or you'll be forever following scooters.

Take it to the red line, probably stops making more power after 15-16,000rpm but will rev higher if you need (before the redline).

Just like the ZXR mate, they love to rev. Just remember to replace oil and filter very regularly. But yeah, 18/19k wont hurt it one bit.

Don't worry bout the revs mate. I had a 94 CBR250RR and I've taken it pass the redline and it's fine. They are rumoured to be able to handle 22500 rpm. (from memory the dial only goes up to 21000) SO you can easily take it up to 20000rpm. Man...i miss my cbr so much.

What year is your bike dude? Anything like 1989 or older and you really wouldn't want to take it past redline. Apparently they don't have a rev limiter. I found out the hard way, after over revving my '89 CBR400RR and blowing the motor.

    Hmm,

You can do a 1:31 lap of the new Taupo track or do the Coro Loop (Kopu Mobil-Kopu Mobil) in under 2 hours without exceeding 17k, or so I heard, or thought, or saw, or did, or dreamt, dunno - one of the above.

Anyway - how are you?? Did you find a bike for your full?? Remember give me a yell if you're stuck.

We should catch up sometime along with that mad musician and do SH16 or Coro or something.
