Lyrics to "The Famous Final Scene" are very cool:

Think in terms of bridges burned
Think of seasons that must end
See the rivers rise and fall
They will rise and fall again
    Everything must have an end
Like an ocean to a shore
Like a river to a stream
Like a river to a stream
    Its the famous final scene
And how you tried to make it work
Did you really think it could
How you tried to make it last
Did you really think it would
Like a guest who stayed too long
Now its finally time to leave
Yes, its finally time to leave
    Take it calmly and serene
    Its the famous final scene
Its been coming on so long
You were just the last to know
Its been a long time since youve smiled
Seems like oh so long ago
Now the stage has all been set
And the nights are growing cold
Soon the winter will be here
And theres no one warm to hold
Now the lines have all been read
And you knew them all by heart
Now you move toward the door
Here it comes the hardest part
Try the handle of the road
    Feeling different feeling strange
    This can never be arranged
As the light fades from the screen
    From the famous final scene
"Atomic batteries to power...turbines to speed..."

Batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
You need something better than the bacon and eggs
The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
    Leave all this misery behind
My love giving me head, feeling very guilty, breaking the bread
Losing my attention, taking the world on
So batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same

    “Pure Morning” by Placebo

    A friend in need’s a friend indeed
A friend with weed is better
A friend with breasts and all the rest
A friend who’s dressed in leather

    A friend in need’s a friend indeed
A friend who’ll tease is better
    Our thoughts compressed
    Which makes us blessed
    And makes for stormy weather

    A friend in need’s a friend indeed
    My Japanese is better
And when she’s pressed she will undress
    And then she’s boxing clever

    A friend in need’s a friend indeed
A friend who bleeds is better
My friend confessed she passed the test
    And we will never sever

    Day’s dawning skin’s crawling
    Day’s dawning skin’s crawling
    Day’s dawning skin’s crawling
    Day’s dawning skin’s crawling

    Pure morning
    Pure morning
    Pure morning
    Pure morning

    Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine

    Lead to the river
    Midsummer, I waved
    A 'V' of black swans
On with hope to the grave
    All through Red September
    With skies fire-paved
    I begged you appear
Like a thorn for the holy ones

    Cold was my soul
    Untold was the pain
I faced when you left me
    A rose in the rain
So I swore to the razor
    That never, enchained
Would your dark nails of faith
Be pushed through my veins again

    Bared on your tomb
I am a prayer for your loneliness
    And would you ever soon
    Come above unto me?
    For once upon a time
From the binds of your lowliness
    I could always find
The right slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
    Discolours all with tunnel vision
    Sunsetter
    Nymphetamine
Sick and weak from my condition
    This lust, a vampyric addiction
To her alone in full submission
    None better
    Nymphetamine

    Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
    Nymphetamine girl
    Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
    My nymphetamine girl

    Wracked with your charm
    I am circled like prey
    Back in the forest
    Where whispers persuade
    More sugar trails
    More white lady laid
    Than pillars of salt
(Keeping Sodom at night at bay)

    Fold to my arms
    Hold their mesmeric sway
And dance out to the moon
As we did in those golden days

    Christening stars
    I remember the way
    We were needle and spoon
    Mislaid in the burning hay

    Bared on your tomb
I am a prayer for your loneliness
    And would you ever soon
    Come above unto me?
    For once upon a time
From the binds of your holiness
    I could always find
The right slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison

What's it with everybody quoting their favourite woe-and-doom-and-death- and-self destruction songs?

Shee-it, I see enough real misery around this world without listening to those lyrics - are you guys TOO happy or something??

Gimme the Ying-Tong song any day!!

Thanks for the reminder placidfemme. Liv sang alongside Dani Filth in Nymphetamine. Sweet Jesus she's talented. Anyhoo, the lyrics commence!

    Theatre Of Tragedy - Venus

Circa mea pectora multa sunt suspiria
De tua pulchritudine, que me ledunt misere.

    Venus! - I trow'd thou wast my friend -
    Professed to Heaven thou wouldst send;
As a disciple of a villain
    Didst thou act the tragedienne.

    Iam amore virginali totus ardeo.
Amor volat undique, captus est libidine.

    Venus! - I trow'd thou wast my friend -
    Professed to Heaven thou wouldst send;
As a disciple of a villain
    Didst thou act the tragedienne.

    Iam amore virginali totus ardeo.
Circa mea pectora multa sunt suspiria
De tua pulchritudine, que me ledunt misere.
Tui lucent oculi sicut solis radij,
Sicut splendor fulguris, qui lucem donat tenebris.

edit: Friendly reminder, Theatre Of Tragedy are only good if their songs are still within the gothic metal genre and still have Liv Kristine in them. i.e their first three albums.

Yeah, I didn't know her name, but she does sound very good... the song itself it rather hard to listen to (lyric wise) but its one of my fav songs

Scumdog: Yeah the lyrics for most of the songs posted are rather dark and negative... but IMO its "real", not just some other love song you get sick of in 5 minutes... but then again I prefer to be "angry" then depressed... I know it doesn't make sense... but thats just me

    Cypress Hill - PIGS

This pig harassed the whole neighborhood,
Well this pig worked at the station.
This pig he killed my Homeboy,
So the fuckin' pig went on a vacation.

This pig he is the chief,
Got a brother pig, Captain O'Malley.
    He's got a son that'a a pig too,
    He's collectin' pay-offs from a dark alley.

This pig is known as a Narco,
If he's a pig or not, we know that he could be.
This pig he's a fuckin' fag,
So all his homepigs they call him a pussy.

Well this pig he's really cool,
So in this class we know he rides all alone.
Well this pig's standin' eatin' donuts,
While some motherfuckers out robbin' your home.

This pig he's a big punk,
And I know that he can't stand the sight of me.
'Cos pigs don't like it when ya act smart,
And when ya tell 'em that your a group from society.

This pig works for the mafia,
    Makin' some money off crack.
But this little pig got caught,
So when he gets to the Pen it's all about the pay-back.

'Cos once he gets to the Pen,
They won't provide the little pig with a bullet-proof vest.
To protect him from some mad nigga,
Who he shot in the chest and placed under arrest.

An' it's all about breakin' off sausage,
Do ya feel sorry for the poor little swine ?
Niggas wanna do him in the ass,
Just ta pay his ass back, so they're standin' in line.

    That fuckin' pig.

Look what he got himself into.

Now they're gonna make some pigs feet outta the little punk.

    Anybody like pork-chops ?

How 'bout a ham sandwich ?
How 'bout a ham sandwich ?

The song is Dreamer Deceiver by Judas Priest, and merges directly into another song just called Deceiver. I love this song on so many levels.

Standing by my window, breathing summer breeze
Saw a figure floating, neath the willow tree
Asked us if we were happy, we said we didnt know
Took us by the hands and up we go

We followed the dreamer through the purple hazy clouds
He could control our sense of time
We thought we were lost but no matter how we tried
Everyone was in peace of mind

We felt the sensations drift inside our frames
    Finding complete contentment there
And all the tensions that hurt us in the past
Just seemed to vanish in thin air

He said in the cosmos is a single sonic sound
    That is vibrating constantly
And if we could grip and hold on to the note
We would see our minds were free...oh theyre free

    We are lost above
    Floating way up high
If you think you can find a way
    You can surely try...............................

    Solar winds are blowing
    Neutron star controlling
All is lost, doomed and tossed, at what cost forever

    Meteors fly around me
    Comets die, and then they
And then they, you wanna see how they try to surround me
I can say, here today, we shall stay forever

If you want to find us in a hurry
Oh let me tell you don't you worry
I can't say, here today, we shall stay forever
Homer you shot the zombie Flanders !
    He was a Zombie?

    Never gonna fall for
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions
God and man - no religion
God and man - don't believe in modern love
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions

I don't really hear lyrics all that often, but this line really appeals:

"Coz I don't shine if you don't shine"

    Read My Mind
    Sams Town - Killers
"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression

Hmmm, after reading Teflons post of the Cypress Hill PIGS lyrics all I can envision is saggy-arsed, sideway hat wearing overweight hoppers with baggy t-shirts, excess bling hanging off them and thinking they're 'tha man' while making swimming motions with their arms.

Aimed at the 14 -19 year old that watch too much C4 etc.

Still, whatever floats your boat I guess.
