Heaps of great lyrics but soo many already listed! Here are two that I am enjoying again at the mo

    Out from Under - Incubus

To resist is to piss int he wind.
ANyone who does will end up smelling.
Knowing this why do I defy?
Because m y inner voice is yelling.
There is a fist pressing against
    Anyone thinks something compelling
Our intuit we're taught to deny,
and our soul we're told is for selling.

    Get from under them
    Resist and multiply!
    Get out from under them
    Resist, unlearn, defy!
    Get out from under
    precipice and see the sky!

    The Warmth- Incubus

I'd like to close my eyes and go numb
but there's a cold wind coming from the top of the highest high-rise today
It's not a breeze cos it blows hard
Yes, and it wants me to discard the humanity I know,
    Watch the warmth blow away

Do you think I should adhere?
    To that pressing new frontier
And leave in my wake a trail of fear (?)
Or should I hold my head up high
and throw a wrench in the spokes by leaving the air behind me clear
Don't let the world bring you down
Not everyone here is that fucked up and cold
REmember why you came and while you're alive
Experience the warmth before you grow old

and one final line that I love....When I am king you will be first against the wall....with your opinions, which are of no consequence at all! ANd anything by Rage or Metallica is great to prepare for a stint in the goal playing hockey too...love to belt these out at the top of my voice!

I love singing this song & playing along on my guitar:

I want to live alone in the desert
I want to be like Georgia O'Keefe
I want to live on the Upper East Side
And never go down in the street

    Splendid Isolation
    I don't need no one
    Splendid Isolation

    Michael Jackson in Disneyland
Don't have to share it with nobody else
Lock the gates, Goofy, take my hand
And lead me through the World of Self

    Splendid Isolation
    I don't need no one
    Splendid Isolation

Don't want to wake up with no one beside me
Don't want to take up with nobody new
Don't want nobody coming by without calling first
Don't want nothing to do with you

I'm putting tinfoil up on the windows
Lying down in the dark to dream
I don't want to see their faces
I don't want to hear them scream

    Splendid Isolation
    I don't need no one
    Splendid Isolation

    Splendid Isolation
    I don't need no one
    Splendid Isolation
Destroy Everything! Destroy Everything! Destroy Everything! Obliterate what makes us weak!

    Murder by numbers

Once you've decided on a killing
first you make a stone of your heart
and if you find that your hands are still willing
then you can turn murder into art

there really is'nt any need for bloodshed
you just do it with a little more finesse
if you can slip a tablet into someone's coffee
then it avoids an awful lot of mess

it's murder by numbers one two three
it's as easy to learn as your ABC

now if you have a taste for this experience
and your flushed with your very first success
then you must try a twosome or a threesome
and you'll find your conscience bothers you much less

because murder is like anything you take to
it's a habit forming need for more and more
you can bump of every member of your family and anybody else you find a bore

because it's murder by numbers one two three
it's as easy to learn as your ABC

now you can join the ranks of the illustrious
in history's great hall of fame
all our greatest killers were industrious
at least the ones we all know by name

but you can reach the top of your profession
if you become the leader of the land
for murder is the sport of the elected
and you don't need to lift a finger on your hand.

I know theres something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yea.
Youve built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.

    Listen to your heart
    When hes calling for you.
    Listen to your heart
Theres nothing else you can do.
I dont know where youre going
    And I dont know why,
    But listen to your heart
    Before you tell him goodbye.

Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yea.
Theyre swept away and nothing is what is seems,
The feeling of belonging to your dreams.

    And there are voices
    That want to be heard.
    So much to mention
But you cant find the words.
    The scent of magic,
    The beauty thats been
When love was wilder than the wind.

Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning
I was dreaming I was Al Capone
Rumors going round, gotta clear out of town
    Smellin' like a dry fishbone
Here come the law, gonna break down the door
    Carry me away once more
Never, never, never want it anymore
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor
Crazy, stone cold crazy, you know

Rainy afternoon, ought to kill a typhoon
And she's playing on the slide trombone
Anymore, anymore, cannot take it anymore
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor
    Crazy, stone cold crazy, yo

Walking down the street, people that I meet
    Fully loaded Tommy gun
Here come the deputy, tryin' ing getting me
Gotta ing get up and run
They got the sirens loose, I run right out of juice
They're gonna put me in a cell
If I can't go to heaven, let me go to hell
Crazy, stone cold crazy, you know.

    How about:

I've got a feeling inside of me
    It's kind of strange....

The link / hint if required is that it was covered by another hugely influential metal band that Metallica have themselves covered

    Pearl Jam- Black

Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Were laid, spread out before me, as her body once did
All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the Earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn
Ohh..and all I taught her was everything
Ohh..I know she she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
    Of what was everything
All the pictures had all been washed in black
    Tattooed everything

I take a walk outside, I'm surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear?
Ohh..and twisted thoughts that spin round my head
I'm spinning, ohh..I'm spinning how quick the sun can drop away
Now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything
All the pictures had all been washed black tattooed everything
All the love gone bad, turned my world to black
Tattooed all that I see, all that I am, all I'll ever be
    Yeah..ohh..ohh

I know someday you'll have beautiful life, I'll know you'll be a star
    In somebody else's sky
But why, why, why oh can't it be, oh can't it be in mine
My daughter telling me like it is:
"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
