    Streetstock tyres

I'm trying to find some half decent tyres for the RG150. They seem to be a bit hard to come by.

Stock is 90/90-17 front and 110/90-17 rear.

TT900GP supposed to be the best, but they stopped making them 9 months ago, so getting hold of these in close on impossible.

BT-39SS (90/80 front) Can get the front, but northern don't bring the rears (100/80 or 120/80) into the country.

Old slicks aren't legal in the north island, so what other alternatives are out there? I'd heard the pirelli MT75's are good on the street, but not so good on the track and the less said about IRC and Vee Rubber the better.

    Any suggestions?

You sure about that? I was supposed to have these front and rear but the shop stuffed up a bit so I have a TT900GP on the front and a conticity (sp?) on the rear (done sometime in the last 6-8 months). The conticity isnt too bad and the TT900 rocks, definately noticed the difference on the track day I went on. Before they had stock standard plasticy things on them and the bike slid all over the place!

WWWHHHHAAAAAAAATTTT!!!!!!!??????? No more TT900GPs????? Shocker.... ah well definately whack on a 90/80-17 BT-39SS on the front, not as good as the TT900GP, but still very good... Ring Northern and tell them to bring the fuckers in, as there is still a huge market for them, especially with streetstock taking off like it is at the moment...

I just rang cycletreads in Auckland and they still have them in stock and as far as they are concerned Dunlop are stil making TT900GP's. Which is good cause I want them for when I replace the ones Ive got...

cool. Looks like I may be wrong about the tt900s (I blame the sources- bike shop said importer wasn't selling them). But the BT39ss are a LOT cheaper so might see if northern are likely to bring some in.

Yeah they are. When me and Glenn went up to Kerikeri we stopped in there early one Saturday morning and they changed his chain and sprockets no probs for an excellent price. He hadnt booked in just rang them late the Friday before. Excellent service with a a smile AND I got some awesome summer gloves for only $50 while we were there!

    Talked to cycle treads. Thanks.

The smallest size they have is 100/80 which seems a bit big for the front. they said to give them a ring back when I've found out what sizes are recommended for racing.

TS?? what were you running front and rear?

You talked to the wrong guy. I called there once and one guy told me the same thing.

I talked to another guy (since someone told me they must be wrong) and the guy was pretty annoyed at whoever talked to me and said that he'll be able to get me smaller tyres (90/80 I believe) and demanded names of the previous person he talked to so he can give the guy a earful.

Just got a set of BT39s from them very nice people. it arrived by courier over a weekend (ordered friday lunchtime arrived monday morning)
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........

    I'm still needing to buy a new TT900 90/80 17" front.
Should get a group together for the 'Discount buy' thing.

Wasn't Stuart at TSS giving us cost price race tyres again this year at Vic club?
