A bunch of us Aucklanders are planning to head down to Welly and try thoes roads for ourselves as well. We'll let you guys know when we can come so maybe we can arrange for a group ride?
I'll time myself from Whanga turn off to kopu again this weekend and see if I can get any better time. Hopefully this time we won't get half of Auckland return home in their cars, trailers etc etc![]()
Of course that was at the speed limit, etc.Originally Posted by wkid_one

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

He's pretty damn quick. My only traffic free run ever was around 11 minutes, so don't go trying to hang with any Audi's on the hill!Originally Posted by celticno6

In a cage....It is about 20 odd secs slower than the R1 was - the bike can truly haul down the straights - but the car can corner quicker (was in a 4WD Turbo)Originally Posted by Two Smoker
Best time on the R1 was 9'47" - mint day tho - really dry and I had RS2's on and needed to change my undies at the other end. The VTR was quicker tho coz I knew it better than the R1
PS - this is from the bridge just short of Kaitoke Gardens to the Twin Bridges.
Surely not in the mondeo?
Nope - have come close in the Mondeo tho.....best time in that is 10'19"...nearly melted the front tyres tho.
This was in a friends car - Forester
yup, I did it in 14 the other week and that was with traffic and roadworks.Originally Posted by celticno6

Guys - just don't do what I did and bin it......
I won't tell you the time I have done it in my old VR4.....that was just a nasty nasty car.....3am in the morning - absolutely no traffic and you could see heads lights coming - so it was like a closed road rally.
Fuck - I just had an epiphany - I now know why I feel off. hahahahahahaha
