Make sure you bring your thermal gear, it has been frosty down here the last week or so (but very clear days), we will have the workshop heaters thawing out turn 1 in the week leading up to the racing, also the penguin colony has been moved away from the racing surface.

Also the flying 1/4 is great, you get to put all the "my bike is faster than your bike" comments to rest because everyone gets to find out how fast their bikes really AREN'T!!!!
Interesting seeing people who claim that their std brand X 1000cc sports bike tthat does 300kmph on the road can only manage 280ish when timed properly!!!!
1 and a 1/2 km run up and run down before the timing, possibly 4-6 attempts each way depending on numbers.
(if only someone had a zx1400....)

John beck got the NZ record for a 250cc machine last year with 160mph I believe

Out of interest in a flying 1/4 what are your estimates for a 1000cc and 600cc race bike New Zealand spec?

I reckon I'll be able to do 125 on the CB. Be a pretty good effort going faster in kph and the number of cc the engine is.

Hopefully be able to hit 200 on the rs although have to get the jetting and gearing set perfectly to do that.

I think the timer switches off automatically after a few minutes!!!!

    "insert bad joke icon"

shouldn't be a problem with that run up, although avoiding the cow shit on the road at that speed is a factor......

You dont want to blow up the new RS!

Jezz k14 I thought you would be holding your new RS like a new born child! not giving it a three km thrashing.

nah only just put a new piston in so still needs a bit of running in. 3km won't take very long after i get it into 2nd. The front straight at ruapuna is just on 1km iirc.

Last time I went to the SI cup I noticed as I drove in that turn one was a sheet of ice, I walked down to have a look at it and on the way back to the pits it started snowing, I hope you got those workshop heaters on high
