    I'm a lucky boy

It's going to be a good week. Took my CB400 into Sportzone Suzuki for it's 18,000 km service (at 19500km ... oops). Arrived to pick it up after work and was told that they'd like to keep it for another day or two to check some stuff out and would I like to take 'this bike' home for a day or two. The 'this bike'... I expected to be the typical loaner, a wee 20 year old 250cc commuter of some flavour. Imagine my surprise then when my eyes were directed to a 1200cc Bandit. I seemed to remember saying "yes" faster than I've ever said 'yes' before in my life. We then agreed that my 400 needed new chain and sprockets, and yeah I might as well keep the Bandit until those things arrive and are fitted. Sure hope the post is slow this week. I'd like to take Mrs Oakie for a spin on the Bandit in the weekend. Sigh!

You and Mrs Oakie look a bit ill. I reckon you need a mental health day.

And I work for a Mental Health provider so that would be most appropriate.

    A true win-win situation.

You win by getting to have fun on a cool bike.

Sportzone wins by getting some good rep, and introducing the possibility of you saying "I want one"........

Nice day to feel unwell..... Trust me, yesterday was too

I've been surprised how easy it is to ride in town. I thought it would be a heavy and unwieldy thing with too much acceleration to make commuting easy but it's not really much different than the 400 to ride.
Tomorrow I plan to get past 3rd gear!

Tell them that you need to have your alternator checked. They will have to pull the crankcase off...and I know for a fact that there are NO gaskets available in NZ, they have to be ordered from Kawasaki...3 weeks away. I know since I have been trying to get one all yesterday and today.

And today in my journey of discovery I found that the petrol tap on the 1200 has a position called 'prime' and that the thing that you turn has been pointed there since I first hopped on it on Tuesday night. I wonder what difference to the performance that'll make tomorrow when it's in the proper position. (None probably)
I've taken tomorrow morning off work and Mrs Oakie and I are going for a wee cruise up the highway before we both go to work for the afternoon.
God I hope those sprockets and chain for the 400 don't arrive tomorrow. The weekend beckons and I have a 6 year old nephew who would just freak out going for a ride up the street on the 1200.

Oh, and I still haven't got out of 3rd gear.

I'm not in love, so don't forget it
It's just a silly phase I'm going through
And just because I call you up
Don't get me wrong, don't think you've got it made
    I'm not in love, no-no
    (It's because...)

I like to see you, but then again
That doesn't mean you mean that much to me
So if I call you, don't make a fuss
Don't tell your friends about the two of us
    I'm not in love, no-no
