I tried em - but never again

I tried them, cos they were given to me as samples
Euphoria (with BZP) is what I tried on a couple of occassions. I was really really tired and had a huge work mission ahead of me - I took a couple each time and was able to complete the work tasks and some.

the problem was I was awake for 24 hours each time I took em, and that
really didn't help things. Eventually you end up having to sleep for 2 days
    because of exhaustion. not good.

Wheres the "high" though.......? is staying awake classed as a high these
days?? - if so... boring .....so ya don't get to see Alice and Wonderland type characters like lucy in the sky with diamonds then ?? how disapointing

My cousin had a night with party pills and then the next night he went to drive home. Because he hadn't slept the night before he ended up crashing his car (he is 17 and had been saving forever to buy his car), going to court and having a massive fine to pay and loosing his licience.

Funny thing is that he had fallen asleep behind the wheel before and kinda knew it was gonna come... I am pretty sure that he hit someone and wrote their car off so he had to pay them money aswell

    Boys aye...

    Arrow Party pills?

Meh, I've just started drinking V again while travelling on holiday. The shit keeps me wired for hours. Four of them in a six hour drive has me wondering wtf is going on.
However, the fact is, I get to see the after effect of different types of drugs at my place of work. Seen plenty of so called "normal" people become psychotic taking illicit substances and then freak out because they have been locked up in a psych ward under the mental health act. Kinda enough to put me off any illicit substance. Oh, and if anyone knows me from over 10 years ago, I plead the 5th...

Are their any chemists on this site? What I want to know is what is the active ingredients of these party pills? I mean if they are not regulated then they obviously do not contain the traditional chemicals such as "pdrene" "vasoline" etc.,. Are these pills just essence of liliac with a hint of rosemary? sounds like it is a little psycological to me.

They don't have real names and even the made up names have been replaced with acronyms - BZP, ATE, K5Hydroxy...

They've all got BZP (benzylpiperazine) in them. Some info on it here: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/bzp/bzp.shtml

All of this stuff about party pills being "better" or "safer" than other substances is purely speculative. These products are all unregulated. There is no prescribed list of ingredients, no quality control/assurance systems around their manufacture or distribution. Users could be putting anything into their bodies, and they probably are. There have been no studies done regarding side effects and, even if there have, these are worthless because of my earlier point about quality assurance -- consumers have no way of knowing whether the ones they took tonight are the same as those "tested" or even the same as the ones their mate took last week and raved about. Party pills are the wild west of bodily additives. They could (at best) be harmless placebos. They could be laced with rat poison. Users don't know jack shit about them -- it's all made up. You take them at your peril.

I agree that with the way "party pills" are at the moment, they're not particularly safe or a good idea to take on a regular basis (or at all). However if another substance (not BZP) was trialled clinically, found to have no harmul effects and be less toxic than illegal alternatives, wouldn't the legalisation of that in controlled doses be a better thing than letting everyone sell as much BZP as they want like the way the market currently is?

Possibly, if "legalising" a quality assured version resulted in the gardenshed lab suppliers going out of business.

Isn't BZP chemically very similar to heroin?
