Because Bicardi 101 is... funnily enough 101 percent 'proof' and it doesn't make you go blind and tastes quite good at the same time.
Its 89.5% ABV (Alcohol By Volume) which is the % of volume, and if you were to work out what it is as proof it would be 179% proof.

    What is proof?

Proof is a method of measuring the alcohol content of spirits. You calculate the proof of a spirits product is by multiplying the percent of alcohol by volume by two (2). For example, a spirits product that has a 40% alcohol content by volume is 80 proof [40 multiplied by 2 = 80].

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Just had a quick look on Google and it seems to be between 91 and 95% ABV so a couple % higher than Absinthe.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Hi all, the spoons (of different designs) are available from a few selected liquor stores around the country when you buy Absinthe, and the sippers can be found in some gift stores, usually called Port sippers or Port pipes, approx $40. I will investigate and see if I can find a supplier for those interested.
