    Dog gone.

Just for those following the story - The Pitt bull that savaged my young bloke has been put down.
Owner apparently came to senses and surrendered it to be destroyed and appologised to Matt.
'Bout f'in' time - but score one for common decency.

Jnr's handled himself quite admirably through a tough ordeal too.

    Moving on.

Thanks for the update, BD. Glad commonsense prevailed.

    good news to that BD
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Owners ultimately need to be held accountable for their dogs actions, as the lively discussion in the original thread came to the conclusion.

I love dogs and will always have them .. do i need them .. hmm prob not but I love them. I am a responsible owner along with hundreds of others, therefore I know where my dogs are 24/7 no exceptions.

we had also determined in the previous posting minority wreck it for the majority of responsible owners

    Without sounding too ars'ey here..............
Every pet owner in the world probably boasts about being responsible with their pet(s), it's only when something like this occurrs and society points the finger, then the owner realise's they are not as responsible as they first thought.

It seems that this topic is all the go in London to , Just listening to the radio and the topic is Gangs of Hoodies with dangerous dogs that are being used as wepons
One interesting thing that has been mentioned is that the dog in peter pan was a staffy , turns out that these dogs were used to look after children a few years back .

    Stephen

glad all was sorted in the end .
( wonder if the owners will get another dog??? )

Good news Dave but "the end of the matter?" You can't keep dwelling on whats past but there must be more accountability than simply putting the dog down and apologizing!
Your boy and your family have been through some serous shit through no fault of their own, the dog owners must have more accountability than that.
Does ACC prevent any further retribution being taken against them?
Just doesn't seem enough to me. Concerned rather than stirring. Cheers John.

    Well done matey
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
