Alright. The cop was off duty and yea it would have been nice if he went out of his way to do something about it at the early hours but I won't hold it against him. When he's not wearing his uniform and he isn't inside his working hours, he's free to do his own thing.

The only anoying thing here as far as the Police goes, is that they are taking a whole week just to finger print the vehicle when it's been sitting in the rain in the tow yard. I've been calling the tow yard and they say, it's not up to them. I called the cops and the whatever warden responcible for dealing with these situations is away till Tuesday. I think vegetation might be ready to grow from the wet seats due to broken window. Ahhh fuck, it's gonna be one hell of a mess to clean up...

Make sure it's actualy at the tow yard too - I had one where the cops rung and told me the vehicle had been recovered and was at **** yard. But the tow yard gave me the run around for a week before they admitted they didn't have it.Turns out it was taken again before they picked it up,the cops had it cleared in their books.....I said forget it.

wow, sorry to hear MR.... joy riders are pricks....
my Dad's Holden race car was stolen from our shed a few years back....
raced from west, to shore, to east, to south before they got cought....
funny thing was, dad cought up in his monaro (he had installed the same engine in his street car as was in the race car..lol) and cought the guy when he lost control...
glad you got it back, even if its worse for wear...

I just got a letter from AMI today. It said Dear bla bla (addressed to me), Our client Mr and Mrs X have made a claim for the accident your vehicle was involved in on the 12th of June. I'm like... Huh, me... crash something other than 2 wheels? That's never happened as of yet! (touch wood)

Then I click, the mother F-in low lives stole my van on the 10th and did a hit and run somewhere on the 12th! Luckily I had already made the police report on the 11th so I'll be on the clear.

But now I know that it's not just smashed windows I have to worry about.

oh darl, thats no good. hope its not too bad....

Dry fingerprint powder and rain water don't mix...see if you can get a tarp placed "carefully" (so you don't ruin any possible prints or put your own on there...) over the broken window to stop the rain getting into the van...

    A happy ending

Right, here's how the story ends.

When I finally chased up the cops to get the van out of the tow yard, the cop was like "Oh... hmm... Don't know why there was a delay, just give me a min and you'll be able to pick it up today". That's after 1.5 weeks of stuffing around, he reckons the paper work just got misplaced. *sigh*..

Alright, so I was all set to pick up my Van. Went there and had a look.. Fuck me.. Side windows on both sides smashed with big rocks that were still in the van. Back window smashed. Stereo ripped out of the dash damaging the dash, speakers ripped out of the van (all four of them). Neon lights stolen. My Suomy Spec-1R gone as well as Spool wet weather glove. Tagging, taggin and more fukin tagging. Stupid fukin shit is printed all over the van. roof, side walls, dash, sun visor, etc etc. Now to top it all of the gear box was blown and it was fukin stuck in reverse. Cunt!

So I had to tow my van to my work where I stored it for a week till I could sort out something. Cheers for that boss!

Then my hero Mr. Firefight and his top buddies from the firefighting crew save the day by managing to get me freebe bits for the van. They were as good as angels through this whole hell hole of an ordeal! Cheers F/F!

Then Texmo helped me get the parts back to base where the van was.

So I got freebee windows and shit but still had to fit the freebe gearbox to the van. Uppon closer inspection, it was a no go. The freebee gearbox was slightly different so it wasn't going to go in! Now WTF do I do?

Then mine and specially Death_Inc's good mate Tux who is a pro auto Mechanic spent all of his Saturday and Sunday working on my blown gearbox. He took it all appart and rebuilt it better than it was before! Fuck that guy is a legened!! All that costed me was some smokes, beers and a feed for him. Saved again.

So now the van is running a bit better than it was before with better looking windows (old ones had shitty old tints anyway). Only down side here is the JVC MP3/WMA player and speakers I had in it are gone. Oh well, I'm not too bothered with that..

Oh yea, the insurance for house and contents are going to cover for the helmet and gloves in the van after telling them the full true story.

Whooora for everyone who pitched in to help!

It'll never do proper donuts. Fukin idiots were just being dicks. No tire wear and clutch still has meat left in it.

Plus I had already bought it some 16' six spoke rims with low profile tires that I had not put on the van yet (lucky!)

I am not sure if I'll still keep the van though... Might do it up by chucking on the gold 16 rims and paint it yamaha blue with full yamaha racing levery or just buy a smaller newer van..
