Triumph service intervals/oil changes etc have shifted to a 10,000km schedule. If its good enough for them, its good enough for me. I'd do what the manual recommends.

yep.. that's the best thing to go by.. they don't write manuals just cause they are completely bored.. no no no, when you're bored, you just type waste-of-time agreements like me on KiwiBikerOriginally Posted by Devil

Every 3,500 km, both oil & filter.

Every 1,000km for the Darmah with a filter every second change.
Though I might extend that a bit when I'm away of course.

do you think its that necessary to drop the oil so often for such a new bike?? I know suzuki dont make the best engines but it couldnt be that bad, huh??Originally Posted by Flyingpony

Im thinking that I should really go by time rather than km's as synthetic oil kinda goes off after 6months and that would be when protection is reduced. In which case I will be dropping the oil in a couple of months at which point itll be around 8000kms since it was put in.
I don't think synth ''goes off'',but I change my oil in 4 strokes every 6 mths regardless of km,time is more important than kms.
As Motu posted, there is a time factor involved too. It is easier for me to remember the next ODO figure to change the oil at rather than which month.Originally Posted by t3mp0r4ry nzr

i never fly faster than my guardian angel can ride
About every 5-7 thousand Kms, and filters. I like to keep the oil fresh and the bike seems to like it too.

Stick to what your service manual states. All brands are different. Some 5ks, some 6ks, some 10ks. Most say to change the filter every 2nd oil change but I always change the filter every time I change the oil. Cheap insurance.
RIP Phil (Pinky) SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.
5000 - 6000 km's. Synthetic only and a new filter.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
