Power was out for about 20 secs this morning b4 the generators started up. From my desk I can see the Queen St / Mayoral drive intersection and it was sweet all day except for the fire engines and ambulances which a couple of times had to give way to each other. They had the biggest shit day of anyone, hope they had a generator to power their diesel pumps otherwise they would have run dry.

Biggest bitch was at lunch time there was no hot food anywhere for first lunch.

Spent the morning trying to figure out where the outages were, then try and figure what we were supposed to be doing this morning, then travel to where they are to check they were OK and that we won't be able to fix their computer system because of the minor problem.

Traffic was fine as long as the motorway was not involved on the trip, people were so helpfull at intersections, whole lines of traffic would stop to allow a vehicle to pull out of an intersection.

Then when penrose power came on at 3:07 all brown stuff hits the whirly thing, thats when many of our customer attempted to startup their systems, had one with a failed raid set and corrupted exchange database, AAAAHHHHH

Finish that off in the morning!!!!????

    Bloody winey Aucklander, happy birthday.

Anyway, now you know what its like in some of the less fortunate countries in the world. Now stop wining about being powerless and start building fires and wandering naked.

    Happy birthday Finn.

You guys got some shocking weather up there but we have just got our Brass Monkey issue about a week too late.
Thought you might like to see what you missed.
If I got it right, pics should be.
    1) Out our window this morning.
    2) Looking at our house.
    3) Entertaining the kids in the "old school yard".
    4) Road conditions.
    Cheers John.

If you live in Auckland, harden up, you live the NZ's biggest city, you have the biggest building, you have the biggest bridge, you have the biggest motorway, you have the biggest mall, so when something is gonna go wrong, its gonna be the biggest........
