    I gave them a call about their price promise.

    They state on their website that if your power is out for more than 2.5 hours then you will get a $50 credit on your next bill.

    In very small fine print it says barring a severe storm, so they're trying to worm out of it.

    its not a matter of worming out of it ... its a force majure .. a major storm event that they have no control over .... therefore compensation is not payable in that circumstance. (networks have not learnt how to control mother nature in all her glory yet)

    if you lose power due to any other event for more than 2.5 hours then payments may be made .. on a case by case basis.

    major storm they have no control over I agree...

    Bit firstly I don't think this was a major storm, and secondly, my understanding is that it was one line that went down and took everyone with it...

    Not very prudent planning if you ask me, of course if my facts are incorrect I hope someone will correct me.
