    Anyways.?

I saw it used a lot when I was working overseas with Yanks and now I see it popping up down-under a lot and commonly used on this board.. Maybe someone like Hitcher can help but I can't help but thinking that it it is another term that we have inherited from the North Western Hemisphere.?

I'm firmly grounded in the non-anyways camp. Sounds very American to me. Having just watched part of an episode of Ellen, I'm decidedidly anti-american today.

    Much prefer anyhoo.

I once shagged a Canadian named Mel
Who didn't shave her legs, you could tell!
Her mound was full of hair
And going down you would fear
    An incredibly pungent pussy smell.

True story that. From the Yukon, where it's dark half the year and where you separate the men from the boys with a crowbar.......

Have used that word a few times, and I guess it's just a piece of slang used when denoting an off-hand, lighthearted manner of speaking. It is sometimes difficult to inflect into the written word the tone of voice intended, so resorting to these "informal" expressions is one way of doing so. Similar intentions are often expressed by adopting other forms of colloquialisms such as txt spelling, phonetics and such like.

Wonder what would happen if America decided to be Anti-you for a day?

The BDOTGNZA is vehemently opposed to ALL naff Americanisms that seek to subvert our rich and diverse language.

"Anyways" is a naff Americanism. And no, we shouldn't have gotten over it already.
