    [welly police] WTF was that?

Wellington police appear to be having ... a parade.

We just had a couple of cars, a bike, a few ambulances and assorted rescue vehicles crawling through the middle of town. Disco lights, sirens, the lot - but not going much above walking pace ... holding up the traffic, generally making themselves a pain.

Anybody know WTF that's all about?

    Dave

Its for the Free Ambulance appeal.
FINE. This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

Yeah. I saw it on the bike just before, I thought a jail must have caught fire and burned lots of people.

    Maybe they're feeling heroic.

Were there lots of moustaches and leather chaps? Any indians or telephone repair men join in?

Free Ambulance Appeal? The best kept secret around - nobody that was watching had any idea what it was about... They've been busy today though. I work down by the station(s) and they been whizzing past all day lights and sirens going...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

It was a clever plan by the DHB. Since there were no doctors on duty because our stink govt wont pay then what they deserve, they sent all the Ambulances out on parade duties. That way they could not bring injured/sick people in to the hospitals highlighting our most serious health problem.
