    I got the same reply.

I have asked a further question about the Test days, and whether we can rock on up for these on road registered bikes. Used to be able to under previous management, but we'll see I guess. Be interesting to see the structure for the proposed Motorcycle Clubsport Days....if it goes ahead....

Didn't work for that Lass who run the Chch Port hill cycle race- thats what's behind this change and I can't argue with the Organisers fear. Someone dies, the Police charge them irrespective of any disclaimers. What was she eventually charged with, involuntary manslaughter or criminal nuisance or negligence? They even cancelled Santa parades after that case so high speed motor vehicles aint got a show.
Lets go crazy and build race spec. Santa parade floats, with all the decorations and colourful lights and do stunts and sprints up and down city streets. Or is that what Sue-bar-roos do?

ps- anyway from the sounds of it we have some hope of getting road bikes back on track.

Im the prsident of CDMTCI and like to thankyou for the positive comments about our clubs open day. Its a pleasure to run it when we get positve feed back.

Managment of Manfield has recently changed hands. e have unfortunetly lost out annual open day date of Jan 2nd (to the scouts believe it or not!). But we are still looking to run 2 days next year. Sat 15 Jan and Sat 26 Feb.

In regards to Manfields current days it would be sux if we still couldnt have time for bikes at these days. In regards to safety equipment for the day this should be upto the organisers to supply ... we supply ours. I live 15 mins from the track and can supply a trailer if required. I am only a call away. If I cant get it there I can organise some one in the club to come to the aid of a fellow motorcyclist.

We have a club run on Saturday with a feed that night. I will try to round up some bodies to attend on Sunday so as to push our case to the organisers to let bikes out there ... we werent the problem after all!

    Cheers Busted.
Would it be possible to organise something like the ride days up here in auckland. Run under club licence It is concidered to be a rider training day
its grades speeds and skill levels on the track.
All bikes are scrutineered to be sure theyre at least up to WOF level
Im pretty sure riding gear is sussed out too

Well, it looks like anyone able to take the odd Friday off work can still have fun - here is my query and reply from Manfeild regarding test days.

My Query - "It is pleasing to hear of your plans to accomodate an open day for motorcycles in the future. Im sure everyone will be happy to hear that.

Could you please advise of the situation with Test days at Manfeild ?

Myself and a friend have both attended a test day on road registered motorcycles - will we be able to continue to do this, and if so, would it matter if a group of road registered motorcycles turned up on a test day ?"

Answer - "test days are fine...you can come to these as well as long as you understand there is likely to be competition bikes here as well and you will be on the track with them at the same time.

Obviously you need to be kitted out with leathers etc.

    Cheers

    Steve"

As I said before, Cycosis and I were the only bikes there on one of the track days. A larger group of bikes would be much more fun, a long as they weren't too many race bikes testing at the same time. For example, when there are no races the weekend after a test day.

Who would be keen for a test day ?

Oh, oh! Pick me *hand up*

Deano, why dont you pick a date in about three weeks in advance, start a thread and we'll get our shit sorted.

That way, if it's shitty weather or anything, we'll all have a Friday off to go to the pub or go karting or whatever.

I'ld propabley come down for a test day gathering.
Test days work better for me (having a race bike), as I wasn't allowed to participate in the day you were last organzing, on a race bike.

Sorry, bit late joining this thread When you sign the disclaimer there is a bit too which says something like - This disclaimer does not waive any rights or responsibilities given under NZ law.

Can anyone point me/us to a list/person who has the dates of test days? and what are the charges for them?

The bit about Motorcycling NZ covering at a test day, every motorcycle club gets 4? track days a year that are covered by Insurance with no extra fees, I was thinking about this in Hami, whether the Kart club would hire out their track. does anyone know if this has happened?

www.manfeild.co.nz has the test dates. $80 for the day is the cost.

Kart clubs are normally not receptive to bikes on the track as binning it damages the track.

25th would suit me better, as I'ld be down there for the 26th race day anyway. But don't worry about me, you pick a day that suits you.

    Manfeild open day cancelled

Obviously none of you read the papers, because the open day at Manfeild on Sunday has been cancelled - so don't bother turning up as there will be no bikes and no cars either. The Manawatu Car Club was holding it and apparently decided to change the event to a sprint event (two cars racing side by side), and for that they need to have strict safety regulations that they mustn't have been able to comply with, hence the cancellation.

It shouldn't affect our CDMTC open days as they are run under different conditions and we only allow bikes, not cars. It's the way things are going and everyone will have to have MNZ permits and follow all the safety recommendations. It's about time too, I've seen more than one driver lose it at an open day and it has unfortunately spoilt it for the rest of us.

I'll be following up the Manfeild car story that was in the Manawatu Evening Standard 26 May with an angle on the bike side of things and how it will affect us, so keep an eye out for it.

Mate, I think you need to read the latest posts - we are aware the open days have been cancelled and have moved on to bigger an brighter things - TEST days.

Pardon moi, Deano, I did not read every post that was on this forum so I had not realised everyone was aware of it - I was just trying to be helpful. Must remember not to do this in future!
