I could see vtec pulling away from me on the straights and even when I got good starts you can see the diffrence. In saying that theroticly my bike should have better grip since im 20kgs heavier at 85kgs
Heyya Texmo, I just saw the pic on you on the vic site and dropped by this thread to see if you had seen them yet, I see you have...very cool pics indeed.
I just stumbled on this post of yours I have quoted here and my thinking on this subject is a little different to yours...
K, imagine being stationary, leaning your bike over and pushing against it, now weight = force, so will more or less force start pushing the tyres sideways?

It is why I do not do so well on the 9 in the wet against the lighter modern bikes, the extra weight of my bike forces the tyres to slide sooner when leant over.
Maybe if the force was running vertically downwards as in braking it could get more grip being heavier, but cornering exerts sideways force, so therefore to my mind the extra force pushes the tyres sideways sooner...whadda ya reckon?

I agree with you on that point Sugilite, but from where I stood Aarons biggest problem was power to weight ratio. Vtec was visibly pulling away from him on straights
