Hey dude, bugger about all that shite, mmmmmmmm what can we do??? I like the comments from the other guys as above, mate you need to look out for yourself in this regards, I been where you are now and I didnt listen to my mates (similiar issue actually) and man did I pay for it. Tell her Im keeping the bike for 12 months then I will consider what I want to do.
Tell her you dont come with ownership papers. YOu are a free spirit dude, why volunteer to change that????
Ive run out of fucks to give

Man sees bike, wants it, buys it - no hidden agenda.

Partner finds out that man has spent money on bike rather than saving for trip. Interpretation: Man doesnt want to travel with me. Doesnt want to marry me. Probably having an affair. Bastard!

thanks for the help guys - someone is going to buy it from me for the price I paid so I don't loose out. Unless there is some kind of miracle/act from god, i'm destined not to be a biker.

So now you've found a buyer will she let you buy one after you've discussed it with her? say next month?

He had told her he was buying it (with his own $$) long before he did....

Well, the battle is lost.....BUT NOT THE WAR!!!
jdm can borrow my bike to learn on - once his partner sees how cool he looks on a bike I think she'll change her mind.
    What do you reckon jdm?

    Don't sell it

I wouldn't let any man say to me "sell ya bike babe or I hit the highway" he can hit the bloody highway and I'd be after him on the bike and run im over.

    Ultimatums DO NOT WORK.

No person has the right to dictate to another.

Hell I got rid of a husband and bought a bike - best deal I ever did.

My bike has been my freedom. No-one curtails that. What other freedoms will your partner take off you. It just won't stop at this one. It's called controlling manipulative behaviour - and only gets worse.

Your money, your life if you don't put your foot down now - kiss ya life goodbye.

Life's too short for this shit.

Hersw an eye opener for you mate.

This is instance 1 right? How many more times will she do this to you? Will you ever get to do anything that pleases you again or will you be one of those pussy footed men who is scared of his wife. No wonder NZ is a timid country proud to lay claim to so much yet stand by so little.

I know how you feel Jerry. My wife got angry with me once when I bought an expensive pair of binoculars. I cut her head off and put it in the freezer. I like those binoculars a lot. They have really good lenses.
