    It's a marketing ploy to entice the bidders. I emailed tardme with my observations of no reserve auctions that have a minimum bid and have been surprised not to get a reply!!

    that doesn't sound too sarcastic, does it?

    All I'm saying is that no reserve means just that, not starting bid is....

    I realise the thread is a bit old but no reserve auction means that the starting bid and the reserve is the same so that you know from the start what the reserve is (ie the starting price) this is different from auctions where the reserve is higher than the starting price and the reserve is undisclosed. I think what you're thinking about is $1 reserve auctions, which are no reserve auctions that start at $1. Trademe now automatically puts no reserve flag (yellow flag) on all auctions that has the same start and reserve price.
    I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........
