IRC server moving

Currently the irc server is housed in Christchurch and will now be moved to Auckland. Here's the message from the server owner.

server_owner: im setting up a new ircd here at work
server_owner: we will be moving to it for the week while i move the (existing) servers to auckland
server_owner: its a little less civilised than this server, some of the services and things are a bit different
server_owner: if it turns out that we like it we can keep it
server_owner: otherwise it will just sit as a backup server
server_owner: its the beware ircd
server_owner: if anyone wants to do some research
server_owner: http://ircd.bircd.org
server_owner: its only for a week guys
server_owner: just keeping you informed, and you shouldn;t have to change anything your end

when is this due to take place MT .. and will there be any issues with accessing chat etc during this time ??

Not sure of the exact date at the moment. I'll be talking to and helping the server owner with testing so I'll update things when I know exact dates.

There shouldn't be any problem with connecting to the chat room. The dns name will be redirected to a different ip number so people shouldn't notice any difference.
