And nice to see my cousin (very distant, but a relataive nonetheless!) Ian Lougher still doing well.

Bruce is an amazing rider, I remember when I was photographing bike racing he won (from memory) five different national titles one year. And that was only a year or so after being so ill.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

New top speed record of 206mph:
New Isle of Man Top Speed Record: 206 mph
    By Alex Edge

In an indication of just how crazy the Isle of Man TT really is, New Zealander Bruce Anstey set a new top speed record when he was clocked at 206mph on the mile-long Sulby Straight during practice for the Superbike-class race. Anstey was aboard a race-modified Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Just for reference, 206mph is basically the same as the highest speeds that have ever been recorded from World Superbike machines, and extremely close to that of MotoGP prototypes.

    Thanks to Motorcycle Daily

Yeah on a nice carefully prepared surface with runoff and sand and inflatable barriers ........ not inches form a brick wall through tree lined tunnels over a public road!

Well I hope not, in which case maybe they should be over there mixing it up with the racers.

Point is - that's pretty amazing what those guys are doing, 206mph on what are public roads. Not exactly a nice smooth race track and run off areas. I have trouble keeping it all together at legal speeds, let alone comprehending what these guys do.

Hope Bruce does well and adds to the trophy cabinet.
