just listening to latest update on radio ..

they may try to clear some roads for a short time but can not gurantee that they will be open only option is naki, adds 100ks to your trip

120 ppl had to be rescued from their cars on napier taupo roads overnite

We are leaving at Midday... Will check on here and the transit website before leaving to see if there are any alternative roads open...

Yeah from all reports you are wasting your time going anywhere but through the Naki. We are heading off about midday and hope to be there about 7pm.

On the upside the weather looks about as good as could be expected for Saturday....
