Highly likely. Nice run from Hamilton, I sometimes go down that way for a play. After you've had the pleasure of blasting through the Awakino Gorge (even in a car it's good), stop at Mokau at the cafe on the right at the top of the hill and have whitebait fritters - sheer heaven!

Gareth, Texmo, Sudeep & Gwinch came through New Plymouth overnight met them at 4 am this morning .. road all clear trip is approx 8 hours .. depending on traffic .. is the only way through at present as central plateau and napier are closed & not likely to open today
C'mon lets ride....
May be a bit late but another option is the East cape.....................
