gone.
They are too used to having monopoly and they decided spending more on advertising and charging customers more will pull more customers than lowering their prices... It's worked too, have you seen the number of people signed up with telecom? A lot of people sign up with telecom simply because they don't know better or because they think it's easier, both of which comes from their expensive advertising.
Hell and they better take in all the profit while they can before the unbundling happends...
Yeah for unbundling!!!!![]()
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........
It's only money! If we didn't give it to them we'd just give it to someone else.

One or two days before the 'unbundling' was leaked to the public, we had a visit from two salespeople trying to sign us up to Xtra broadband....seemed to me to be a mighty big coincidence.

Do Woosh and TelstraClear have to "unbundle" their networks so that Telecom can access these? And if not, why not?

They don't (at the moment), but the precedent is set.Originally Posted by Hitcher

Woosh and Telstra are both piggy backing off others.. they don't really have anything to unbundle.Originally Posted by Hitcher

Silly peson. In Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, TelstraClear has installed its own fiber-optic network. That is how I get my 1mbs broadband, phone and Sky TV delivered. Woosh (and others) have installed a wireless network. If Telecom is to "unbundle" then why can't Telecom have access to these networks as well?Originally Posted by boomer

While TelstraClear did their own rollout of fibre optic, Telecom brought their assets off the government with strings attached (kiwishare agreement) which is why they are/and can be being forced to unbundle.
Makes sense to me.Originally Posted by Warren
