    Four killed in Lower Hutt

Just before midnight last night a Subaru Legacy carrying four family members pulled out onto S.H.2 from a Stop Sign controlled intersection. A Subaru Impreza collected it, killing all four occupants of the Legacy.

My thoughts today are with the families of those involved & the Emergency Services staff that attended.

Let's be careful out there Guys & Gals.

The driver was a good friend of mine and one of the business partners of my work. She'll be sadly missed. RIP Liz.

A terrible tragedy - not helped by the lack of information from the surviving party.

    Keep safe everyone.

RIP to those in Lower Hutt.
Condolances to their family and friends.

Last night wasnt a good night for Saburu's.
One decided to go on the Royal Rd, Massey, Auckland OnRamp last night and go under the rear end of the Fire Engine on the motorway.

The Fire engine was on its way to another car accident to help at that scene.

They had to cut the roof of the white saburu and get all three occupants out. Full of beer cans etc. They are all in critical condition.

I mean how do you not see a huge red fire truck, with its lights flashing.

Unfortunately 4WD and ABS don't compensate for excessive speed, bad judgement or excess blood alcohol content. The Subaru's that adorn our countries roads seem to be very good however at instilling a heightened feeling of "confidence" in some of their owners.

Glad you said "some"! I drive an Impreza but as far as I'm concerned, it's just another car to get me and my junk from A to B. But there again, I don't have a baseball cap on backwards or a wastegate set wayyyy too low!

Yes, it's quite telling that there were apparently no skid marks or signs of braking from the northbound car. Terrible tragedy anyway, but even more tragic if it turns out he had been drinking or wasn't meant to be on the road.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
