Poor poor Edwards what more can i say.That man has heart he had me on the edge of my seat then banging myself in the head when he left the braking to late only see him fly back to 1st position some how then when he crashed on the astro turf i felt so extremely sorry for him as he finished in 13th position.
But good job Nicky and also a sterling effort from the ninja himself Shinya Nakano.

Also bad luck for Hopkins with his bad choice in tyre. And GOOD! jOB to the Doctor My Rossi coming from last place on the grid to 8th! with a broken bone in his right lower arm.Also seen that the oldie Kenny Roberts Jr can hold up with the young wipper snappers.

Bummer about Edwards. Rossi is amazing. Good to see a Kawasaki keeping up with the pace for a change.

That last lap was intense... I was gutted to see edwards and the M1 part company on the last corner... AAARRRGGHH!!!!

"What can I say? Obviously I'm really disappointed because I know I should have won that race. The bike felt great from the start and I was really enjoying riding it out there. I knew my pace in practice would be hard for the other guys to cope with and that's how it proved to be. I got the start I wanted and just kept my head down, doing those times. When Nicky came up inside me two laps from the end he left the pass pretty late and there was nowhere for me to turn the bike into. I had to go straight and luckily it was at a point of the track where I could run back on again. I was determined not to lose hold of him and just gave it everything to give myself a chance on the last lap. I got past him and then tried to keep a really defensive line out of the final corner - I had no idea Nicky had run onto the gravel otherwise I wouldn't have needed to do it. Unfortunately I ran it a bit too tight onto the grass and the rear just spun up as I opened the throttle and it threw me off. I'm gutted but fair play to Nicky, it was a great race."

Edwards' ride was brilliant and really did deserve a better end.
Hayden is putting together a strong claim for the title.
Rossi demonstrated that not only is he brilliant, he has guts.
(A wrist injury may not seem a major, but the movie "Faster" focusses on the importance of wrist injuries to Moto GP riders.)

We are two weeks into a series of five races in six weeks, if memory serves, so anyone injured now gets minimal time to recover before a lot of points have evaporated.

Bling to the man who forewarned us that this was all to take place Sunday morning...

Edwards is a great rider and showed he had guts back in his day in WSB and I have always wished he could win a race in MotoGP. Shame this wan't the one.

I really think that if Edwards rode every lap of his MotoGP career, as he did the last two laps of last nights race, he'd be world champion.

He looked like the Colin Edwards III who bet Troy Bayliss against all odds in the WSBK. He looked angry on the bike and really took the bull by the horns, so to speak. Very bad luck not to have won but I'm sure it'll show him that he IS world champion material and he just has to muscle the bike a little more.

Poor bastard.

Gutted!

Well done on that last corners effort Edwards. Plenty of riders wouldn't have bothered trying. 13th place, but what a Hero. You desereved a win. Keep it up,, maybe next time!

Well done to Hayden,, I had to put my ' always a Bridesmaid ' comments away in the end.

I personally thought Hayden's riding was dangerous.
First he overtook Edwards dangerously forcing him off the track and then at the last chicane he did an impossible move and luckily he got away with it......unfortunately Edwards didn't.
Now Edwards has the new M1 Chassis, he is on a par with Rossi etc in terms of handling. Edwards definately has the talent, but its obviously difficult to shine when the Doctor gets all the latest stuff.
As for Hayden, I think he's a tosser. He's had the best bike for years and although consistent, doesn't seem to have a winning streak in him although this time he showed dogged determination to get past Edwards at all costs. Something that very well could have ended his race in the same spot as Edwards' if luck hadn't been on his side.
Theres plenty of other great riders that should be on the HRC factory supported bikes such as Hopkins, Nakano, Melandri, Stoner, Roberts jr. etc.
Hopefully Rossi can rest his wrist (no more wanking) and come back at Hayden at the next few rounds. He can still win the title if he has a bit of luck, although it will be difficult. If anyone can do it Rossi can.
