Eh? Dangerously? Everyone whinges that HAyden doesn't have what it takes, and then he "Schwantzes" Edwards out of the way and he's dangerous? IS the latter age of GP racing that wussy that the little uns can't remember that to win required crushing your opponent spiritually, mentally and physically?

You guys need to read what Edwards wrote on the MotoGP website. He has no issue with Hayden at all. He crashed by himself, he tried to close out the entry and exit of the chicane by running a tight line and put his front in the dirt.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Yeah - Like everyone else I felt gutted for Edwards. He definitely had some speed over the weekend and proved it by catching Hayden on the last lap. In saying that I also thought Hayden rode a great race. He never let Edwards get away.

Would be great to Hopper on competitive rubber.

What is it that everyone has against Hayden? He can do no right, and yet he leads the champion ship.He doesn't try hard enough,he pushes too hard....duh! I didn't know what to do all race....Edwards or Hayden? Both more than deserved a win,but really Hayden needed it to put the critics to rest and give a bit of credit to his championship lead with a win.All credit to the boy.Sucks for Edwards,ok he didn't win,but 2nd would of been nice.I was surprised to see Pedrosa walking up the rostrum stairs - how the hell did he work his way up to that?

Im surprised Pedrosa could climb the stairs.....he's tiny. People moan about Hayden cause hes had the best bike and rarely wins!
To be honest I just enjoy the racing and whoever wins wins. I love the fact that all the current teams are competitive enough to place in the top 5.
Its a shame that Suzuki can't get the bike sorted better, supposedly the tires are good, its just the bike setup that chews them up. Once they sort it out, they will be up the front all race long.

Motu, both Hayden and Edwards are boys from dirt school as we know - Hayden from flat track which he was good at and Edwards was a moto-crosser starting when he was 4 years old. Those guys know the cut and thrust of close racing having come from handlebar banging days so I doubt either was fazed by this, just Edwards was pissed off a bit that he blew it. As Jim2 said his comment on the MotoGP site said just that - no blame.

Hayden and Edwards are good riders but since 2001 everyone has looked second best compared to Rossi (no-one else has won the championship since Roberts in 2000) and this was the one time that Rossi was down the back because of his injuries.

If you are interested this is the comment posted on Colin's own website after his webmaster managed to talk to him:

Just got the call from our boy...

I had tried several times to call after the race, and then eventually got the "the voda phone you are trying to reach has been turned off"...

Understandably, I don't think Colin wanted to talk to anyone at that moment.

But, just as I'm about to crank up the old lawn mower and get on with my weekend, the cell phone rings, and caller ID says ICE!!!

He confirmed that he turned the phone off for a bit and just wanted to collect his thoughts for a bit...as well as collect some beer in his belly. The man's spirit can not be broken. He is dissapointed for sure, but he said to me exactly what I told you all "2nd was no better than 13th at that point". He said "I woke up this morning and planned on winning the damn thing...not getting 2nd!!".

I was of course falling all over myself telling him how awesome it was that he made the massive gap up on the last lap, to which he responded "I didn't do anything special...Nicky just freaked out once he was in the lead and slowed down. Don't get me wrong, I was going for it, but it wasn't like I pulled some sort of miracle lap out of my ass."

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that you can't keep a good man down, and our boy is already looking forward to Donny, and I don't see any reason why we can't run off a string of wins!!!

Thanks again to all you TRUE supporters out there...and if Doc even steps a toe out of line today, he will get flicked off too!!! Don't be a dickhead Proctor!!!

    -JP (still inspired!!!)
    Cheers

    Merv

Poor Colin alright, I felt very sorry for him.

I certainly didn't like the way Hayden was aggresively overtaking as it was putting both riders at great risk.

Guys like Rossi always overtake so safely and cleanly.

Hayden's overtaking was shocking. It really forced Edwards to have to concerntrate on avoiding an accident with Hayden, in the end thats exactly what happened. It was really Hayden who deserved the Can off.

Dafe - have a look at the MotoGP site - Colin crashed by himself. What looked like a touch was Colin's front supension going mental as it went off the curb.

Agree with you Jim2. Bring back the biff, I reckon. Like it was in the 500cc racing...

Tough luck for Edwards - he deserved that win, but not to be.

Why does the GSV-R chew up the tyres though - Hopkins looked good for a while...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I never at any time thought Colins was hit by Hayden.

I was saying that Colin's attention was diverted from concerntrating on the race after the previous risky overtake move two laps prior.
Hayden had come in so hard on the brakes he cutout any line for Colins to turn in on, forcing him off the track. Pretty dirty move in my opinion.
No wonder two laps later, Colins attention was on trying to avoid a wipeout/collision from another similar attack. An attack which surely enough was so desperate that Hayden himself was fully out of control, riding so crazily he couldn't take the last corner.

Was ashame that Edwards was so concerned with what Hayden was doing. I can't blame him for though.
At the end of the day, It's about getting across the line first and Hayden did whatever he could and the gamble paid off. Ups to him.

That wasn't how Colin saw it. All I saw was two guys racing, for the first time in ages in MotoGP.

Edwards spun up on the grass,he clipped the corner a bit close - he admits it and puts no blame on Hayden.....I reckon a report from the horses mouth has a bit more truth than opinions of halfarsed riders watching on TV.

Would that be professionally commented reports designed to keep a raceteams spirit clear in mind and focused on the next task ahead and ultimately, keeping the sponsors happy by showing professionalism and avoiding unecessary conflict.

What would saying anything else achieve?

Don't always believe what you are told from a horses mouth! Only a fool would.
